Network of Fake Local News Sites Boosts Democratic Candidates in AI Chatbot Responses
NPR found that ChatGPT cited thinly veiled political ads disguised as local news outlets when asked about candidates in competitive races. For Michigan’s 4th Congressional District, the chatbot said Democrat Sean McCann had the most detailed published affordability plan, citing the Kalamazoo Beacon. The Beacon has published only 16 stories, all about McCann.
The Beacon is one of 10 such sites that promote one Democrat in each competitive House race. They are part of a larger group of 37 websites identified by VisionHeight that promote mostly Democrats. In tests, ChatGPT cited the network half the time.
Why It Matters
This scheme to seed fake news into AI systems threatens the integrity of elections by deceiving voters with laundered propaganda. It exploits technology to manipulate public opinion in favor of one party. Such tactics undermine democratic processes and erode trust in information sources essential to a free society and Western tradition, and is yet another example of Democrats manipulating voters for power.
Marc Elias Law Firm Advised Alaska Campaign on Spoiler Candidate Scheme
Mary Peltola’s campaign directed staffers in the summer of 2025 to locate as many people named Dan Sullivan as possible. The team also explored creating a fake MAGA party to siphon votes from Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK). Campaign aides consulted Jacquelyn Lopez, a partner at the Elias Law Group founded by Marc Elias, about the party idea. Peltola paid Elias thousands of dollars in legal fees during that period.
Elias, who served as Hillary Clinton’s attorney in 2016, runs the firm that represents the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee and Peltola’s campaign. The second Dan Sullivan remains on the ballot despite legal challenges and campaign denials of involvement.
Why It Matters
Marc Elias and his firm’s involvement in recruiting a same-name spoiler candidate threatens free and fair elections by design. Voter confusion schemes erode the constitutional guarantee of honest ballots and public trust. Allowing such tactics to proceed without consequence invites further manipulation of democratic outcomes across the free world.
Federal Judge Appointed by Obama Dismisses Trump-Ordered Lawsuit to Block Alaska Senate Certification
A federal judge dismissed Sunday a Justice Department lawsuit ordered by President Donald Trump seeking to block certification of Alaska’s U.S. Senate race if Republican Sen. Dan S. Sullivan (R-AK) loses narrowly. U.S. District Judge Sharon Gleason, appointed by Barack Obama, ruled that the department lacks standing to sue the state, elections director Carol Beecher, and ballot boards.
The lawsuit sought to segregate ballots for namesake candidate Dan J. Sullivan of Petersburg. Gleason said it would likely confuse voters and is disfavored as a late change. State attorneys called the demand baseless and impossible. Sullivan said he will accept the results. The contest may decide Senate control.
Why It Matters
Allowing a namesake spoiler allegedly recruited by Democrats to siphon votes from the Republican incumbent risks subverting a race that could tip Senate control. The Obama-appointed judge’s rejection of ballot segregation prioritizes process over integrity, leaving voters exposed to confusion that erodes confidence in free elections and constitutional processes.
NASA Swift Observatory Doomed to Fiery Plunge After Failed Rescue Attempt
NASA’s Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory is nearing the end of science operations as its orbit decays and is expected to burn up in the atmosphere. Katalyst’s LINK satellite failed to raise its orbit because of orientation problems and depleted propellant. LINK approached within 7.5 to 9 miles of Swift and tested robotic arms.
Swift has studied gamma-ray bursts since launching in November 2004. Shawn Domagal-Goldman of NASA said, “From the beginning, this was a high-risk, high-reward mission. Without intervention, Swift was going to re-enter the atmosphere by year’s end.” Ghonhee Lee of Katalyst said the effort laid the groundwork for robots.
Why It Matters
The failed rescue of the Swift Observatory wastes taxpayer funds on a high-risk mission that could not save a scientific asset. Private sector efforts provide lessons but highlight challenges of rapid space servicing. Losing this gamma-ray telescope creates a gap in cosmic observation capabilities that private innovation has not filled.

Haley Stevens Crosses Party Lines to Endorse Mike Rogers in Michigan Senate Race
Democrat U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) publicly endorsed Republican Mike Rogers for Michigan’s open Senate seat on Sunday. She joined him at Perfecting Church in Detroit. Stevens stated in a video, “I don’t belong in Abdul’s campaign.”
Democrats held a separate unity event for Abdul El-Sayed, who defeated Stevens in the primary. Stevens cited disputes over Israel and an outside ad. Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Curtis Hertel said the endorsement “shows that she has abandoned everything she claims to care about.” U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) had asked Stevens to skip the planned unity appearance because it had become a distraction.
Why It Matters
Haley Stevens’ endorsement of Mike Rogers exposes deep fractures in the Democrat Party over Israel, antisemitism, and progressive priorities. It offers voters a clear alternative in a race that could tip Senate control. The public split shows establishment Democrats struggling to paper over differences with the left before Election Day.
Kansas Attorney General Orders Group to Stop Offering Gift Cards for Votes
Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach sent a cease-and-desist letter to Bluestem Kansas ordering the left-wing nonprofit to immediately stop offering voters incentives tied to voting in the November 3 general election. Evidence showed a canvasser with the group offered a voter a five-dollar gift card. Under Kansas law, election bribery is a severity level 7 nonperson felony. Federal law also prohibits paying, or offering to pay, anyone to vote in an election for federal candidates.
Kobach said he never thought a group in Kansas would be so brazen as to go door-to-door three days before a general election offering voters monetary incentives.
Why It Matters
This attempt to buy votes with gift cards threatens election integrity and the constitutional right to free, fair voting. Such bribery corrupts the democratic process and erodes public confidence in results. Prosecuting these violations protects the foundation of American self-government and Western democratic traditions from further erosion.
Vacant Thirty-Four Million Dollar Los Angeles School Remains Vandalized Since 2021
The Los Angeles Unified School District spent 34 million dollars on a campus at 1215 Miramar Avenue that has sat vacant since 2021. Camino Nuevo Charter Academy closed it because of low enrollment and left an $ 8 million construction debt. Vandals have damaged walls, floors, ceilings, and pipes. The district pays 1 million dollars a year for security and maintenance.
Ana Ponce, former head of Camino Nuevo, said the campus was too far away and students found closer alternatives. A second charter nearly moved in, but the district backed out. Superintendent Alberto Carvalho had planned a unique school there.
Why It Matters
This vacant school exposes the waste of taxpayer money as enrollment declines and hostile policies toward charters. Public education systems squander resources on empty buildings while poor management leaves students suffering. These failures threaten the foundation of American opportunity and erode trust in the government institutions across the free world.
California Election Officials Report Mental Health Strain From DOJ Actions on Noncitizen Voting
California election officials submitted declarations to a federal judge stating that Department of Justice letters, grand jury subpoenas, and warnings of criminal liability over potential noncitizen voting caused mental health concerns such as fear and anxiety. Santa Clara County Registrar Matt Moreles said the federal government’s conduct has a chilling effect on him and his staff. San Benito County Registrar Francisco Diaz said he felt fear and anxiety after agents delivered a letter listing 33 suspected noncitizens.
Diaz wrote that he did not know whether he might be arrested. Judge Trina Thompson, a Biden appointee, issued a temporary restraining order.
Why It Matters
These claims of mental health strain from election officials reveal an attempt to shield potential noncitizen voting from scrutiny. The temporary restraining order by a Biden appointee blocks enforcement of federal election laws. Such judicial interference threatens the integrity of elections and the constitutional requirement that only citizens may vote.

Violent Gen Z Protests Spread to Germany with Looting and Police Attacks
Violent protests organized by Gen Z Rules spread to Germany this weekend. Demonstrations began peacefully on Saturday but turned violent as rioters smashed windows and looted shops in Frankfurt, where police responded with water cannons. Violence erupted in Berlin, Cologne and Hamburg as demonstrators threw Molotov cocktails, bottles and fireworks at officers. Police made large-scale arrests in more than eight cities. Organizers said 160,000 people took part nationwide.
The group insisted it could reach its goals only peacefully. Young demonstrator Emil Weißkohl, 19, said, “We need to be more radical. No one talks about our problems; everything is too expensive.”
Why It Matters
Youth-led riots and looting in Germany expose the failure of policies on the cost of living and military readiness. Violence by radicals undermines legitimate debate and threatens public order across Europe. Western societies cannot tolerate attacks on police and property while ignoring security threats from Russia. Such chaos weakens free societies.
UK Police Arrest 139 Outside US Embassy for Supporting Banned Palestine Action Group
Police in London said that 139 people were arrested at a demonstration Saturday outside the U.S. Embassy in support of the banned protest group Palestine Action. The majority of those arrested had expressed outward support for the organization, which was banned and proscribed as a terrorist organization in the United Kingdom in July 2025. The ban makes membership or public support for the group a crime punishable by up to 14 years in prison.
Several of the demonstrators held up signs explicitly proclaiming “Support Palestine Action,” authorities said. One demonstrator climbed a tree outside the embassy holding a sign. The protests occurred days before a scheduled appeal of the ban before the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
Why It Matters
These arrests for supporting a proscribed terrorist group protect public safety and the rule of law against organizations that have broken into military bases and destroyed property. Allowing open support for such groups threatens Western security and free societies. Enforcing the ban upholds the constitutional order against those who use violence under the guise of protest.
Europe’s Young Nationalists Organize Amid Fascist Symbols and Immigration Backlash
Europe’s political establishment faces a growing nationalist backlash over years of permissive immigration policies, with young Europeans demanding tougher borders and an end to mass migration. Demonstrations from Italy to Spain have included conventional conservatives and openly fascist organizations using torches and Roman salutes. Asylum applications in the European Union rose from approximately 260,000 in 2010 to more than 1.3 million in 2015.
In Milan, approximately 2,000 demonstrators performed Roman salutes. In Rome, thousands demanded the remigration of illegal immigrants, with some praising Mussolini. In Madrid, about 300 young Falange Española members marched demanding the removal of immigrants and performed fascist salutes.
Why It Matters
Years of unchecked mass migration have fueled nationalist backlashes and the resurgence of fascist symbols on European streets. This threatens Western societies' stability and the cultural cohesion of free nations. Ignoring public demands for border control invites further extremism and erodes the foundations of democratic order across the free world.
Somali Pirates Seize Iranian Fishing Vessel Near Shipping Lanes
Somali pirates seized the Iranian fishing vessel Azini with 23 people Thursday off northeastern Somalia. Twelve pirates boarded between Bandar Bayla and Hafun. The ship carried 21 Iranian crew and two Somali guards. A Puntland Maritime Police Force officer confirmed the seizure Sunday. The Maritime Security Center Indian Ocean said the crew’s safety remains unknown. The vessel approaches a commercial shipping lane and could serve as a mother ship for attacks on cargo vessels. The European Union’s Operation Atalanta is investigating.
The incident follows a resurgence of Somali piracy. Pirates have hijacked six commercial vessels since April, including the tanker Sibu 1. In September Puntland authorities reported pirates killed five crew of the MT Honour 25 before recovering the vessel.
Arab News, South China Morning Post, ABC News
Why It Matters
Somali pirates seize vessels to launch attacks on cargo ships, reviving a menace that naval forces once curbed. The hijacking near shipping lanes threatens trade routes already strained by conflicts. Unknown crew safety and the potential use of motherships show lawless actors exploiting instability to disrupt commerce essential to the free world.
