Los Angeles Officials Admit No Independent Method to Verify Voter Citizenship
Los Angeles election officials told a federal court they have no independent way to verify voter citizenship beyond what registrants attest under penalty of perjury. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said they simply take their word for it and warned that eligible Americans’ votes are being diluted. California has not acted on the list of 20,000 suspected noncitizens or agreed to set aside their ballots. The Justice Department charged 28 noncitizens with election crimes. Acting Deputy Attorney General Trent McCotter said the department will not look the other way while noncitizens vote. Newsom’s office said the state follows federal law.

Fifth Circuit Upholds Mandatory Detention Without Bond Hearings for Illegal Immigrants
The full Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 10-7 Friday that illegal immigrants detained in the United States have no constitutional right to a bond hearing, regardless of time spent in the country. Trump-appointed Judge Cory Wilson wrote the majority opinion. The case involved three men from Mexico and Honduras arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after traffic stops. One had lived in the United States more than 22 years. All have American-born children. Judge James Ho wrote in concurrence that “A nation ceases to be a nation if it can’t protect its borders.” The decision applies in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi and strengthens the administration’s ability to hold detainees until proceedings conclude. Department of Homeland Security General Counsel James Percival called it a “big win.”
Ilhan Omar Hires Biden Personal Attorney Amid Federal Immigration Probe
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) retained Amy Jeffress and Joshua Matz of Hecker Fink as federal investigators examine her immigration history. Jeffress became former President Joe Biden’s personal attorney in 2025. Homeland Security Investigations agents searched Omar’s Washington home on October 12, seizing her phone, passport, computers and notebooks. The probe focuses on whether Omar or her late father misstated her age on naturalization paperwork and on allegations about her 2009 marriage. On October 16, the lawyers demanded return of seized property, writing that the investigation “violates Representative Omar’s constitutional rights and threatens the separation of powers.” Omar has denied wrongdoing and sought public donations for her defense.

El-Sayed Refuses Questions on Muslim Brotherhood Letter in Michigan Race
Abdul El-Sayed, the Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate in Michigan, interrupted and refused to answer questions from Bret Baier about a 2012 letter he signed urging Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, a Muslim Brotherhood leader, to purge the media and police. El-Sayed said, “I’m not interested in anything you’re going to pull out from a 2012 statement,” and asserted, “I have never been a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. I never will be.” He accused the line of questioning of implying dual loyalty. Republican opponent Mike Rogers (R-MI) said El-Sayed has been “dancing around this issue” and “has adopted the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
FBI Arrests CIA Contractor Accused of Leaking Classified Reports to Girlfriend
The FBI arrested Ian A. Brinksman, 42, of Washington, D.C., Friday on a charge of unlawfully transmitting national defense information. Brinksman, a CIA contractor with TS/SCI clearance, allegedly accessed TOP SECRET reports outside his duties and shared them with his romantic partner, Substack publisher Aída Chávez. An FBI affidavit details repeated patterns of calls, database access, and matching Substack articles in 2026. CIA Director John Ratcliffe said the unauthorized release “poses grave risks to our national security, intelligence sources, ongoing operations, and our officers.” Assistant Attorney General John A. Eisenberg called it “a betrayal of his oath.” Chávez has not been charged. Brinksman remains in custody after a residence search.
North Carolina Governor’s Claim of Doubled Absentee Ballot Rejections Contradicted by State Data
North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein (D) claimed last-minute State Board of Elections changes are leading to thousands more absentee ballots being rejected this election, at twice the rate of 2022. He called it infuriating and urged people to vote in person or seal both envelopes. The claim came from a Common Cause analysis published by Democracy Docket. State data showed a 3.1 percent spoiled rate so far in 2026, up from 2.6 percent at the same point in 2022. U.S. District Judge Thomas Schroeder, appointed by President George W. Bush, declined to block the rules, saying the provisions aren't burdensome.

Study Finds 58 Percent of Americans Get News From Left-Leaning Aggregators
A Media Research Center study found that 58 percent of Americans get news from at least one of Apple News, Google News, Yahoo News, or Microsoft MSN. These aggregators heavily favor left-leaning outlets. Of 487 Google News top stories in February, only 11, or 2.2 percent, were right-leaning, while 314, or 64.5 percent, were left-leaning. Of 620 Apple News top stories in January, zero were right-leaning and 440 were left-leaning. David Bozell of the Media Research Center said of Apple’s promoted stories that “not a single one of those stories was from a right-wing news source. Not one. Zero.” A broader analysis showed the apps promoted 92 percent left-leaning outlets versus 17 percent right-leaning ones. Apple News promoted neither Fox News nor the New York Post.

Code Pink Founder Medea Benjamin Met Sanctioned Iranian Intelligence Facilitators
The Telegraph reported Friday that Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin met two men later sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury for ties to Iranian intelligence. In 2014, Benjamin attended a New Horizon conference in Tehran and was photographed with Nader Talebzadeh and Hamed Ghashghavi. U.S. officials later identified both as facilitators and spotters for the IRGC’s Quds Force. An intelligence source told the Telegraph that Iran viewed Benjamin as an “asset” for promoting the regime’s narratives in the United States and United Kingdom. Code Pink continues to oppose sanctions on Iran and organize protests. Benjamin has not been charged.
New York Mayor Releases Spanish Video Advising on ICE Encounters
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani released a Spanish-language video Friday instructing viewers on how to respond to Immigration and Customs Enforcement encounters. He said agents cannot enter private spaces without a judicial warrant, advising people to look for “United States District Court” and a judge’s signature and to say “I do not consent to your entry” if none exists. He added that people stopped on the street have the right to remain silent and can ask, “Am I free to go?” before calmly walking away. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said, “At no point in this video is anyone urged to abide by the laws of the United States.” The video follows a prior English version and comes amid criticism of recent ICE activity in the city.

Florida Attorney Arrested After Alleged Threats to Kill ICE Agents at Gun Store
A 70-year-old Florida-licensed attorney, Lisa C. White, is in federal custody without bond after Homeland Security Investigations agents say she discussed plans to kill ICE officers at a Mississippi gun store. White, admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995 and living in Diamondhead, Mississippi, entered High Caliber Guns in Long Beach on September 23 and said she needed a gun for protection at a protest because “ICE agents are becoming crazy and wild.” She allegedly asked if firearms could penetrate body armor and said she would aim for the head if not. She replied, “If I have to die, I have to die,” when warned. She faces charges of threatening a federal officer and a November 16 trial date.

Hamas Issues Unprecedented Threat of Another October 7 Massacre Through UN Official
Hamas officials warned Israel of readiness to carry out another attack similar to the October 7, 2023, massacre, with potential targets inside Israel, Judea and Samaria, and overseas. Senior figures delivered the threat to UN humanitarian coordinator Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov during a meeting in Gaza last week and asked him to convey it. They expressed frustration that Israeli military operations, changes to the yellow line marking IDF positions, and Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas’ cancellation of elections set for November 28 were eroding their control. Alakbarov met Maj. Gen. Yoram Halevy of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories on Wednesday and passed the message. Israeli officials viewed the warning as unprecedented in its directness and urgently forwarded a document to political and security leadership. The alert arrives amid ongoing IDF targeting of Hamas Nukhba force members and senior terrorists, plus demands that the group surrender its weapons, which officials expect it to refuse. Hamas also faces a financial crisis requiring about 90 million shekels monthly for roughly 30,000 personnel.
Riots Erupt in France as Far-Left Fuels Unrest for Second Weekend
Riots erupted across French cities Saturday as far-left elements fueled unrest during a second weekend of far-Left-instigated protests. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez deployed 70,000 police and said authorities must respond quickly to significant calls for disruption from political groups and criminals. Clashes flared in Paris, Marseille, Lyon and elsewhere, where police used tear gas and water cannons against hooded youths hurling stones and bottles. The interior ministry counted 410,000 participants nationwide. President Emmanuel Macron earlier demanded utmost severity against delinquency after ultra-left groups sought to bring down the republic last weekend, which saw more than 2,500 arrests and roughly 3,000 shops looted.
Houthis Claim Missile Strikes on Saudi Airports and East-West Pipeline

Spokesman Yahya Saree said the attacks were in response to “treacherous Saudi aggression” that included 100 airstrikes in the past 24 hours. Saudi Civil Defense warned of falling shrapnel from ballistic missiles fired toward Mecca and Medina regions. The Saudi-led coalition reported destroying two ballistic missiles aimed at Yanbu and Taif, with no immediate confirmation of hits on targets.
UK Charities Report White Staff Paid Up to a Third Less Than Ethnic Minority Colleagues
Oxfam paid its white staff a median of 33 percent less than black or people of color colleagues last year, according to its annual report. Cancer Research UK reported white staff paid 7.6 percent less on average. The British Red Cross showed an 11.4 percent gap favoring ethnic minority staff. Oxfam’s spokesman said the organization is “committed to fair, inclusive recruitment practices” and “does not operate a policy of positive discrimination,” adding the gap “is not evidence of unequal pay for the same work.” Shadow Culture Minister James Wild said individuals “should be rewarded for their talent and hard work, regardless of their background or ethnicity.” Reform UK’s Suella Braverman called the results “the Equality Act laid bare.”
Suspect Detained After Fire Guts Hitler’s Former Eagle’s Nest Retreat

About 200 responders found the empty structure ablaze after a 9:15 p.m. alarm with no injuries. Officers detained a 33-year-old German on a motorcycle after he tried to flee. Evaluation indicated mental illness. Prosecutor Rainer Vietze said authorities would seek his commitment to a forensic psychiatric facility, assuming diminished responsibility, while checking for political motive. Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said they would rebuild the insured building, noting, “We will hardly be able to leave a ruin standing there.” Built in 1937.
