Abdul El Sayed Defends Ties To Islamist Streamer Hasan Piker; Hints At Big Tax Increase For Middle Class
Democratic Socialist and Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed refused to sever ties with Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, a political Islamist and himself a member of the DSA, during a Sunday interview. El-Sayed called Piker’s remark that America deserved 9/11 a “dumb statement” that had been disavowed but left open continued joint campaigning. Piker has also claimed the Oct. 7 Hamas attack was a “direct consequence” of Israeli actions, suggested Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) should be murdered, and in an earlier stream said immigrants would “f*** your sisters and then your daughters” while declaring intent to “destroy the white race.” El-Sayed indicated his Medicare for All plan would require higher taxes on middle-class workers. His opponent, US Sen. Mike Rogers (R-MI), pointed out that El-Sayed’s plan would severely attack the finances of the middle class.

Alex Padilla (D-CA) argued the proposal was stricter than existing state voter ID laws and would require identification for mail ballots. The bill allowed common forms of photo ID such as driver’s licenses, passports and military cards.

House Democrats are preparing a strategy of investigations into businesses and financial firms linked to President Trump if they regain the majority in November, rather than pursuing immediate impeachment. Firms such as Apple, Alphabet, Palantir, Blackstone, BlackRock and Elon Musk-owned companies have been discussed due to contracts and dealings.
