Is The Democrat Party Now The Party Of War, Or Is Biden Wagging The Dog?
Listen to this bonus segment of Underground USA on America’s Third Watch, broadcast nationally from our flagship station WGUL AM860 & FM93.7 in Tampa, Florida
As we get into the thick of the political silly season, one has to consider whether or not President Biden isn’t functionally “wagging the dog” in his aggressive posturing through military means. Biden’s recent actions move beyond being provocative and illustrative. They are unnecessarily threatening at a moment in time when the world’s other superpowers are empowered and unafraid of the United States.
With the weapons arsenal of the United States deleted beyond acceptable levels and a Pentagon worried more about diversity, equity, and inclusion, transgenderism, and the delusion of domestic terrorists within the ranks, our nation is less prepared for a cataclysmic military event than we were before the attack on Peral Harbor which launched us into World War II.
Yet, the Biden administration is engaging in actions that demonstrate either ignorance of the dangers or complicity in the threats, all for the sake of political opportunism.
Playing With Big Boy Toys
On June 4, 2024, the US military conducted a series of test launches of the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This event marked the first of two scheduled tests for the week, with a subsequent launch planned for June 6. The missile's re-entry vehicle traveled approximately 4,200 miles to the Kwajalein Atoll test range in the Marshall Islands, achieving speeds exceeding 15,000 miles per hour.
The Biden administration insisted that the tests, part of a routine program conducted over 300 times before, were not motivated by recent global events but aimed to validate the safety, security, effectiveness, and readiness of the US nuclear deterrent forces.
The Minuteman III, operational since the 1970s, is critical in maintaining strategic nuclear deterrence. With 400 such missiles currently in service across the US, the missile system remains reliable but aging, necessitating updates and eventual replacement by the LGM-35A Sentinel by 2029.
Russia received advance notification of the tests.
Amid rising tensions involving Russia, North Korea, and China, the test launches serve as an unnecessarily provocative, albeit legitimate demonstration of US military readiness.
The Minuteman III ICBMs, alongside nuclear Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBMs), form a vital part of the US nuclear triad, ensuring 24/7 strategic deterrence.
Poking The Bear
This test took place in the face of a major development in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. For the first time, Ukrainian forces have conducted strikes on Russian soil using US-supplied weapons. This move follows Biden's recent decision to allow Ukraine to use these weapons in the Kharkiv region.
Ukrainian government minister Iryna Vereshchuk confirmed a successful strike on a Russian S-300 missile system, marking the first use of Western arms on Russian territory.
The Biden administration's permission is said to be limited to shorter-range missiles and, allegedly, for defensive purposes, but those claims are suspect at best. Anonymous administration officials confirmed that the strikes aim to curb Russia's attacks and aggressive posturing in Kharkiv, situated just 12 miles from the Russian border.
Reactions from Russia were swift and severe.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and President Vladimir Putin warned of "fatal consequences" for continued Western support of Ukrainian strikes within Russian territory and specifically named the United States. Putin has stressed that Western involvement in such attacks effectively constitutes direct participation in the conflict, as these strikes would require satellite and intelligence support.
The Kremlin's sobering warnings underscore escalating tensions, though NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg reaffirmed Ukraine's right to self-defense, naively stating that aiding Ukraine does not make NATO a party to the war.
Scratching The Scab Of The Korean War
In collaboration with South Korea, the Biden administration continued sabar-rattling in conducting its first precision-guided bombing drill in seven years. It deployed a long-range B-1B bomber over the Korean Peninsula and, thus, rankling the Communist Chinese as a result. The drill, which involved dropping Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs) while being escorted by South Korean fighter jets, serves as an agitative show of force against North Korea in response to its recent provocations.
The Biden administration tried to explain that the training exercise aims to demonstrate the US's security commitment to South Korea and strengthen the allies' joint defense posture. But some see it as one part of a “wag the dog” exercise meant to bolster his failing poll numbers ahead of the November General Elections.
JDAM bombs, including bunker-busters, convert unguided, conventional bombs into precise, GPS-guided weapons. North Korea considers such drills highly provocative as bunker-buster bombs pose significant threats to its leadership and underground military structures.
Historically, North Korea has retaliated to the presence of US bombers in the region with its own missile tests.
The Biden administration’s decision to conduct these joint drills follows a recent act by North Korea in which it used 3,500 balloons to send 15 tons of wastepaper and other trash into South Korea, described by Seoul as a significant threat to its citizens' safety and property.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol approved the military's call to take all necessary measures to protect their people in light of these provocative actions by North Korea.
As geopolitical tensions continue to escalate, the world remains cautiously aware of the potential consequences. The US, Russia, North Korea, and China are all engaged in a dangerous game of brinkmanship, with the possibility of a devastating conflict looming ever closer. Actions to prevent these tensions from escalating further are conspicuously absent.
Democrats: The Party Of War
In the 1960s and 1970s, the Democrat Party and its rank and file presented – some would say disingenuously – as the anti-war party. Protests against the Vietnam War took place across the nation, with many returning soldiers being abused, spit on, called “baby killers,” and much worse.
Our nation even endured the sanctimonious diatribes of Medea Benjamin and Code Pink during the Afghan and Iraqi Wars. These ignorant and politically opportunistic protestations ironically ceased once a Democrat was elected to the presidency.
But as more and more of the “protest generation”—people like John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden—assumed power in Washington, DC, they crossed an ideological Rubicon into the Deep State bureaucracy they railed against in the 1960s and 1970s and into collusion with the military-industrial complex. They became the leaders of the party of the wealthy, the elite, and the warmonger.
Today, under the Biden administration – an administration run almost entirely by leftovers from the Obama administration, the United States is ignorantly and dangerously rattling the sabar of war even as it exists woefully delinquent of statesmen capable of engaging in negotiations to avoid a global apocalypse.
This is hubristic stupidity on a level seldom seen in human history, and it is being identified not just by conservatives, constitutionalists, and libertarians. People from within the Democrat Party are testifying to the fact.
Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democrat congresswoman and presidential candidate who had the gumption to stand up to the Clinton machine and the Obama cabal, left the Democrat Party because she identified it as the “party of war.”
In her personal substack, she wrote:
“The pro-war Democratic Party has led us to the brink of nuclear war. The party is led by warmongers who are firmly in the grips of the military-industrial complex, and don’t know or care about the cost of war, or who pays the price. President Biden and Democratic Party elite have pushed us to the precipice of nuclear war, risking starting WWIII and destroying the world as we know it. This is the most urgent existential threat we face.”
Gabbard stated she could “...no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms enshrined in our Constitution, are hostile to people of faith and spirituality, demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, believe in open borders, weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents, and above all, are dragging us ever closer to nuclear war.”
Some may find Gabbard’s words suspect, given her Democrat past, but I do not.
And, while many erroneously complain about Gabbard’s connection to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in being selected for its Young Global Leaders initiative (TGL), this is an awarded designation, not one that was sought. In fact, Gabbard has never attended any WEF events despite being listed as a YGL. She clarified that she was never asked to join and has had no involvement with the WEF. Notably, she became the first prominent Democrat to criticize the WEF’s annual gathering in Davos and “The Great Reset” agenda they promote.
It should be noted here that the Trump campaign is considering Gabbard for the vice presidency, although she has not opined on that consideration.
When The Cognitively Challenged Try To ‘Wag the Dog'
The Biden administration and their counsel of Obama 2.0 holdovers are forcing exaggerated military conflict to distract from their disastrous poll numbers, use of lawfare to politically persecute their opponents, and myriad political scandals.
However, abusing the US military in such a cowardly exercise presents several dangers. Engaging our military into an exaggerated conflict for political purposes can lead to unnecessary loss of lives, both military personnel and civilians. Additionally, it wastes valuable resources that may, in the near future, be used for more essential and preservational purposes.
Further, a "wag the dog" exercise can strain relationships with other nations, as it may be perceived as an act of aggression or, more appropo for the Biden administration, dishonesty. This can lead to diplomatic fallout, economic sanctions, or even retaliation.
Consequently, as was the case when Bill Clinton wagged the dog for re-election purposes, when the truth behind a wag the dog operation is revealed, it can significantly erode public trust in the government and its institutions. This can lead to a decrease in support for future military actions, even those that are genuinely necessary.
Lastly, a wag the dog exercise can unintentionally escalate into a real conflict, as other nations may perceive it as a genuine threat and respond accordingly. This can lead to a full-scale war with catastrophic consequences. This is the case today with the Biden administration, especially with an empowered Russia and China that harbor no respect for the US military or US leadership on the world stage.
The American people – and especially rank-and-file Democrat voters – need to raise their voices to their federally elected and political party officials to let them know in no uncertain terms that allowing the neo-fascist Marxists of the Biden/Obama 2.0 administration to play with the ignition of World War III is wholly unacceptable and, in fact, condemned in the strongest of terms.
Short of that effort being successful, Biden – and through him, Obama – will go down in history as even bigger ignoramuses than Neville Chamberlain. That is, if the human race is around to chronicle history.
