Biden’s Foolish Military Decisions Result In Direct Threats To The Homeland
With the Biden administration’s approval to let Ukrainian forces use US-made weaponry in offensive operations within Russian borders. Mr. Biden and his Obama 2.0 advisors have crossed a Rubicon that is now yielding unnecessary consequences, a direct threat to the American mainland we haven’t seen since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.
With the Doomsday Clock sitting at just 90 seconds to midnight, we can ill afford the continuing ineptitude exhibited by the Biden administration and a completely woke and unprepared Pentagon. A massive seachange must arrive in Washington, DC, this November; even then, we must pray that it comes in time.
Biden’s Dangerous Folly
In a significant and dangerous shift in policy, President Biden has authorized Ukraine to conduct strikes inside Russia using American-made weapons. This marks the first time an American president has allowed military responses with US-made weaponry inside the borders of a nuclear-armed adversary.
This change in policy was pushed by Biden's Obama 2.0 advisers and key allies, and it has not gone unnoticed by Russia. Moscow has warned that it would respond if the United States shifted policy.
As the word of an impending change took place, Russia set those wheels in motion, launching drills and exercises for Russian forces that move and deploy tactical nuclear weapons. This move can be seen as a clear signal to the Biden administration.
The Russians Make A Move
On June 12th, 2024, US officials announced that the US Navy had deployed warships and aircraft to track a Russian naval flotilla after the Russian vessels sailed less than 30 miles off South Florida's coast on Tuesday.
Last week, Moscow sent three warships and a nuclear-powered submarine to the Caribbean for what US officials said would be an extensive military air and naval exercise. These exercises are the first of their kind in at least five years.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the drills began on Tuesday in the Atlantic, with its hypersonic-capable frigate and nuclear-capable submarine simulating a strike on a group of enemy ships. Although it is unclear whether the frigate is armed with hypersonic missiles, the US intelligence community has assessed that none of the Russian vessels are carrying nuclear weapons.
While the Biden administration has said it is not concerned by the Russian activity, it has nevertheless authorized the deployment of three powerful destroyers and a submarine reconnaissance aircraft to the region. This deployment includes three guided-missile destroyers – the USS Truxtun, USS Donald Cook, and USS Delbert D. Black – as well as a Coast Guard cutter, the Stone, and a Boeing P-8 maritime patrol aircraft.
Last week, confirming Russia's deployment plans, a senior administration official said the US Navy would adopt "whatever the necessary posture is to track and to monitor" their activity as the exercises unfold.
The Russians Make A Move: Part II
Multiple officials said Russian ships could make an additional port call in Venezuela.
The Biden administration anticipates the exercises will culminate in worldwide naval exercises by Russia, including deployments from the Caribbean to the South Pacific.
As part of the Russian exercise, the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces announced last week that the Russian missile frigate Admiral Gorshkov, the nuclear submarine Kazan, the oil tanker Pashin, and the salvage tug Nikolai Chiker would arrive on June 12 and stay for a week.
According to marinetraffic.com, the Russian sea rescue tug Nikolay Chiker was 26 nautical miles from Key Largo on Tuesday morning. While US officials have acknowledged the Russian ships' close proximity, they have emphasized that they have remained in international waters.
"We have been monitoring the ships' paths closely," a US official said Tuesday. "At no point have the ships or submarine posed a direct threat to the United States."
In addition to the Russian warships and the nuclear-powered submarine expected to arrive on Wednesday, HMCS Margaret Brooke, a patrol vessel for the Royal Canadian Navy, will also arrive on Friday and stay until the 17th, when the Russian ships are expected to leave.
The Communist Party newspaper Granma said the ship's visit highlights the "50th anniversary of cooperation ties" with Canada and the "bilateral collaboration for the maintenance of peace in our region." It did not mention the simultaneous presence of Russian navy assets at the port.
A Venezuelan training ship, the AB Simón Bolívar, will also visit Santiago de Cuba, the island's second-largest city, between June 15 and 19.
Ironically, had the Biden administration supported the Freedom Movement that errupted in the streets of Cuba in July of 2021, none of this would be happening today.
A Foolish Decision Or A Modified Wag-The-Dog?
This development in the region highlights the escalating tensions between the United States and Russia.
The Biden administration's decision to allow strikes inside Russia using American-made weapons has sparked a dangerous response from Moscow. Whether the hypersonic and tactical nuclear weapons are present on vessels within Russia’s warships is tantamount to irrelevant. What is relevant is the preparatory actions in which Vladimir Putin has engaged because of Biden’s unilateral decision to up the ante by escalating the role of the United States' military-industrial complex in the Russia-Ukrainian War.
For far too long, the American people have allowed the President (e.g., The Executive Branch) to execute war-time powers without the codified consent of Congress, without an official declaration of war.
The US Constitution is quite clear on this matter. Article I, Section 8 states specifically:
“The Congress shall have power to…declare war, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water…”
As noted by History.com:
“The War Powers Act – officially called the War Powers Resolution – was enacted in November 1973…
“The law’s text frames it as a means of guaranteeing that ‘the collective judgment of both the Congress and the President will apply’ whenever the American armed forces are deployed overseas…it requires the President to consult with the legislature ‘in every possible instance’ before committing troops to war…
“Additionally, the law stipulates that Presidents are required to end foreign military actions after 60 days unless Congress provides a declaration of war or an authorization for the operation to continue.”
In the context of 21st-century warfare technology – with literal boots on the ground not being required to exercise US military force – US-made military weaponry must be included in the purview of the War Powers Act.
And while presidential war powers are necessary in the rare cases of an imminent threat to our homeland, the routine usurpation of congressional authority to declare war; to commit US military personnel and resources to combat and into war zones, sets the stage for politically and ideologically motivated abuses of power by the president, such as we are seeing with Biden and his Obama 2.0.
Thanks to these miscalculations and gross ineptitude – thanks to the Democrats' lust for maintaining power at all costs, we now have Russian assets capable of delivering hypersonic and tactical nuclear weapons less than 90 miles off the US coast…and with the Doomsday Clock at 90 seconds to midnight.
Sleep well.
