You Either Believe in the Guaranteed Right to Free Speech Or You Support Oppressive Totalitarianism
While the mainstream media showcases its hypocrisy in the cancel culture’s attempt to force Joe Rogan’s podcast off Spotify, we should all use this moment constructively – and, in fact, instructively – to clearly identify the divisive elements in our society. Truth be told, this isn’t a Democrat versus Republican issue. It’s a freedom versus subordination issue that transcends political lines.
Rogan, currently in the cancel culture spotlight over content on his popular podcast, may be the villain de jour for the fascist-Left, but he is just a vessel sailing on the river of society and that river has a hard fork rapidly approaching.
Critics of Rogan’s have launched a totalitarian campaign to force the podcast and music streaming service Spotify to cancel "The Joe Rogan Experience." Conversely, fans, free speech advocates, and even former guests of the show are rallying around the strikingly popular podcaster to push back.
The chief complaint against Rogan is that by exploring alternative avenues for the treatment of the COVID virus – methods that worked splendidly for the podcast host when he found himself afflicted with the virus, he was engaging in the spread of “disinformation.”
Ironically, the guest that appears to have caused the biggest brain melt in it all is Dr. Robert Malone, the chief scientist behind the development of the mRNA vaccine therapy on which the COVID vaccines are based. Malone is vehemently anti-COVID vaccine and especially for children.
Since then, the fascist-Left amongst the woke media and glitterati have unearthed cherry-picked content from years ago when, in an attempt to be symbiotic with the level of crude in the Rap culture, Rogan used the N-word.
Of course, Rogan issued an apology for using the slur, calling it "regretful,” but explained without reservation that the clips were taken "out of context" from over "12 years of conversations."
The fascist cancel culture campaign of censorship was started by a 1960s and 1970s throwback, Neil Young – who received nothing short of an unwarranted and opportunistic extension of his questionable time in the spotlight – and attracted other flies to the manure pile. Grasping at their own lifelines back to the spotlight of notoriety were David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Joni Mitchell, Peter Frampton, and Nils Lofgren.
You’ll notice that all of those names have been extinct from the “relevant list” for decades. Further, each of those artists made millions off the idea that free speech was sacrosanct and off the mantra of “tolerance and inclusion.”
Countering the feigned outrage of the fascist-Left, many relevant voices issued statements of support for Rogan including MIT research scientist and podcaster Lex Fridman, former US Representative and Democrat presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, Rapper Zuby Music, former Evergreen State College professor and author Bret Weinstein, journalist Glenn Greenwald, Neuroscientist Debra Soh, comedic actor Rob Schneider, journalist Bari Weiss, North Korean human rights activist Yeonmi Park, and more.
Actor Scott Baio also expressed his support for Rogan tweeting, “I support @joerogan. I know him and his family well as our daughters were friends when they lived in CA. I also support @Spotify."
Why This Is Important
The overriding issue in all of this is the sanctity of free speech, a constitutionally guaranteed right that the fascist-Left has been attacking since the Wilsonian era. Increasingly over the years – and at every turn, the fascists of the Left – who now call themselves both Progressives and Democratic Socialists – seek positions to unconstitutionally whittle away at the bedrock of Americanism: free speech.
As was noted above, Democrats – not Progressives or Democratic Socialists, but true and honest Democrats – have come out in defense of free speech. This illustrates the fact that this is not a Democrat versus Republican issue. This is a freedom versus subjugation issue.
We in the United States – as well as around the world – have witnessed the unilateral totalitarianism of the fascist-Left, most recently here in the United States at the hands of the Biden administration and Blue State leaderships’ draconian management of the COVID “pandemic.”
Without legislating a single provision, the Executive Branches at the federal and state levels issued edicts under the guise of a “state of emergency” while their collaborative toadies in the mainstream media and social media executed a massive censorship campaign to silence any and all opposing viewpoints about how to treat the virus.
This is the exact reason why the has-been Left was used by their fascist puppet masters to usher out the long knives against Rogan; against his free speech, and against his ability to make a living. He dared to examine something alternative to the fascist-Left’s anointed narrative on COVID.
The elitist and fascist-Left are no strangers to inserting themself into areas in which they have no purview. A perfect example of this comes in the subject of “regulating” cryptocurrencies, an alternative and decentralized financial system created as a direct result of government malfeasance in the lead-up to the financial crisis of 2008.
Today, every government in the world and every globalist organization is scrambling to figure out how to reign in the freedom cryptocurrency affords everyone in every financial demographic around the world. They are attempting to unilaterally co-opt the blockchain-based platforms into their purviews to impose control through taxation and regulatory powers.
And so, we see that the fascist-Left – the totalitarian, anti-freedom Left – engages in a continuous effort to diminish freedom, be it through the censorship of speech or the elimination of financial freedom. At every turn, it is about conquest, control, power, and wealth for the elite globalist class and servitude for the rest of us.
The Franklin quote cited by Schneider is something we all need to take seriously. The first thing fascists do when they move to usurp the freedom of a people or the sovereignty of a nation is to subdue the freeness of speech.
We are certainly witnessing that usurpation by the fascist-Left today and we must vote accordingly in every election at every level from this point forward lest the Republic is lost.
