Hasan Piker Minnesota Visit Divides Democrats Ahead of Midterm Election
Hasan Piker’s sold-out visit to Minnesota on Monday is prompting anxiety among Democrats less than two weeks before the midterm election. State Sen. Omar Fateh is hosting the event, with U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) expected to appear. Several Democrats have condemned the visit. State Sen. Ron Latz said Piker’s “record of hateful rhetoric is clear” and that Fateh and Omar should not lend him their platform. DFL Chair Richard Carlbom said the event is not sanctioned and condemned comments that “divide us.” Strategist Abou Amara said the visit “undermines the momentum” of building a broad coalition. Piker has said he “would vote for Hamas over Israel every single time.”

Trump Directs Pentagon to Use Defense Production Act for Oil Refining Capacity
President Donald Trump said Thursday night in Iowa that he directed the War Department to invoke the 1950 Defense Production Act to boost oil production as gas prices remain high ahead of the midterms. The department will release $150 million to increase American refining capacity and produce more diesel and gasoline. Trump signed a memorandum earlier that day directing War Secretary Pete Hegseth to use the Cold War-era act to complete purchases, make commitments, and use financial instruments to expand domestic petroleum infrastructure. “Petroleum fuels the Nation’s Armed Forces, industrial base, and crucial infrastructure,” Trump wrote. “Without immediate Federal action, United States defense capabilities will remain vulnerable to disruption.”
Editor’s Note: The oil flow isn't what keeps prices high; Leftist policies have stunted refinery capacity.

UnitedHealthcare and Humana Cancel Medicare Advantage Plans for Nearly 1 Million People
UnitedHealthcare and Humana are canceling Medicare Advantage plans that will affect nearly 1 million people in 2027. Eric Hausman confirmed that about 390,000 members will lose their current plans due to high usage and rising costs. In July, Celeste Mellet said about 600,000 Humana members face ending plans. Insurers mainly drop Preferred Provider Organization plans in less profitable areas. Major carriers cut dental benefits and raised out-of-pocket costs. Alexis Levy of HealthScape Advisors said seniors may stay with the company but won't get the same level of coverage. “We’re still seeing the chronic condition plans as the growth engine for the MA market,” she said.
Editor’s Note: The health insurance industry and the corporate medical complex are the biggest scams fleecing the American people today.
Former FBI Officials Charged With Lying to Congress About Hunter Biden Investigations
The Justice Department charged former senior FBI officials Nikki Floris, 46, and Bradley Benavides, 56, with lying to Congress about their roles in Hunter Biden investigations. They led the now-dissolved Foreign Influence Task Force during the 2020 election and surrendered Friday. In 2023 House Judiciary Committee testimony, Floris denied any discussions about Biden while Benavides said he learned of the laptop from Wikipedia. Affidavit evidence of documents and witnesses shows the contrary, including routine involvement and briefings. FBI Director Kash Patel noted one official privately claimed to be “running a shadow government.” U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said that agents who lie will face the hammer of justice.
Fifth Circuit Vacates Injunction Against Mississippi Anti-DEI Law
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a preliminary injunction against Mississippi’s anti-DEI education law. Circuit Judge Jerry Smith, appointed by President Reagan, lashed out at District Judge Henry Wingate, also appointed by Reagan. “The proceedings in the district court were a botch job, to say the least,” Smith wrote. Wingate’s temporary restraining order contained factual assertions not in the record and cited a nonexistent case. The court noted the district judge issued sloppy edicts based on falsehoods and fabrications. The 5th Circuit vacated the injunction and remanded the case to a different judge. Wingate later admitted his staff used AI to draft the inaccurate order.
Supreme Court Clears New Hampshire Full Ban on Student IDs for Midterm Voting
The Supreme Court on Thursday cleared the way for New Hampshire to fully ban student IDs for midterm voting. The justices granted a Republican-backed emergency appeal and blocked the IDs as a backup method of identification. The court cited the principle that judges should not change voting rules close to Election Day. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was the sole public dissenter. New Hampshire passed a law this year that removes student IDs as an expressly accepted form of identification for obtaining a ballot. The secretary of state issued guidance barring them as backup proof. U.S. District Judge Joseph Laplante, appointed by George W. Bush, left the law in place but blocked the guidance in early October. The Republican National Committee supported the state. State Rep. Donald McFarlane said colleges lack the same controls as government agencies. “Today’s Supreme Court decision is a victory for common sense,” McFarlane said. The ruling comes less than two weeks before a closely contested U.S. Senate race.

Federal Raids Charge 15 in $1.8 Billion Southern California Medical Fraud Sweep
Federal authorities conducted predawn raids across Southern California on Thursday and charged 15 people, including six medical professionals, with $1.8 billion in fraudulent claims to government and private insurers. The cases include the Justice Department's largest sober home fraud scheme and unnecessary invasive procedures detected through data analytics. Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald said, “if you steal health care dollars from the American taxpayer or abuse your position to harm patients, we are coming for you.” Dr. Harold Tabaie, 78, of Anaheim, and chiropractor Hany Malek, 61, of Tarzana, face charges in a $135 million scheme for medically unnecessary atherectomies that caused patient pain. Nathan Young, 39, and his father David Young, 71, are charged with a $1.6 billion scheme that trafficked addicts to sham Los Angeles rehab centers where no treatment was provided. First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli said it is especially egregious when doctors resort to petty greed and criminality.
Federal Filing Identifies Minnesota Congresswoman as Ilhan Nur Said Elmi
Federal prosecutors referred to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar” in a motion to keep the search warrant for her D.C. home sealed. Two sources identified Elmi as her birth name. Omar’s office said, “This is completely false. Ilhan Omar is her real name.” The filing does not establish fraud. At an Iowa rally, President Trump said she used a fake name to be sworn in and demanded her resignation. Agents searched the home Oct. 12 and seized her phone and passport. Omar said she is moving out. No charges have been filed.

Man Arrested After Sledgehammer Attack Damages Iwo Jima Statue Near Quantico
Prince William County police arrested Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, 27, of Stafford, Virginia, on Wednesday after finding him actively damaging an Iwo Jima statue near Marine Corps Base Quantico with a sledgehammer. Officers responded around 10:13 p.m. near Richmond Highway and Fuller Road. Damage included the removal of one Marine figure’s head and additional destruction estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Soriano faces charges of felony destruction of property, trespass with intent to damage property, and felony injury to a monument. He is being held without bond. The limestone statue is a smaller replica of the Marine Corps War Memorial by Felix de Weldon depicting the 1945 flag-raising on Iwo Jima by U.S. Marines during World War II.
Neil Bush Votes for Democrat Talarico in Texas Senate Race Citing Trump Opposition
Neil Bush, the younger brother of former President George W. Bush, said he voted for Democrat James Talarico in the Texas Senate race. Bush, 71, posted on Facebook that he crossed party lines, citing opposition to President Trump, who he said “has done enormous damage” to the Republican Party. “My vote was motivated by two things: deep concern about Ken Paxton’s record and genuine admiration for the character and principles I see in James Talarico,” Bush said. He opposed Paxton’s effort to challenge the 2020 election results to help Trump remain in power. Paxton was impeached by the Texas House but acquitted by the Senate. Trump endorsed Paxton.
Editor’s Note: An absolute disgrace. Anyone claiming to be a Republican who can vote for a DSAer Marxist because they don’t like someone’s personality is an absolute buffoon.
Democrat Candidate Brawls With Opponent’s Mother at Yonkers Campaign Event
Kisha Skipper, a Democrat trying to unseat GOP Westchester County Legislator James Nolan, got into a brawl with his mother during a campaign event at the Beczak Environmental Center in Yonkers, New York. Yonkers police say the brawl started during a break when Skipper argued with a former campaign staffer. Donna Nolan tried to separate the two women and sustained an abrasion to her lip. Donna Nolan and Skipper then began fighting. Police transported Donna Nolan to the hospital. Skipper shared a Facebook post showing her in a sling. James Nolan said his opponent physically attacked his mother, repeatedly punching and scratching her. Police said they released Skipper without charges and that the investigation was ongoing.

France Deploys 70,000 Police Officers to Halt Weekend Rioting After Violent Protests
France will deploy 70,000 police officers nationwide on Saturday to prevent a repeat of last weekend’s rioting after protests against school conditions and the cost of living—although far-Left and foreign agitators have co-opted the protests. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said the government sought to avoid the chaos that left nearly 1,000 officers injured, more than 3,000 shops looted or damaged, and over 2,500 people arrested. “We will be inflexible toward rioters, looters and anyone who commits acts of violence,” Nuñez stated. He alleged far-left groups urged violence and looting on social media. Authorities plan to use elite units, armored vehicles, water cannons, drones, and helicopters. Paris restricted the protest route.
One Dead and Four Injured in Drive-By Shooting West of Paris
One person has died, and four others have been injured in a drive-by shooting in the Yvelines district west of Paris this morning. Early reports suggest a man fired into the street with an automatic rifle. The suspect fired bursts of shots from a vehicle in Trappes and then in La Verrière before being arrested in Coignières. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu wrote on X that very serious events had occurred in Trappes, with one person killed and four others injured. He said police had apprehended the individual and placed them in custody, and that the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office is monitoring the situation.
US Accuses Russia of Dangerous Satellite Maneuver Near Commercial Craft
US officials accused Russia of threatening a Finnish-operated commercial satellite that provides imagery and intelligence to Ukraine, calling the move deliberately reckless during a United Nations debate on October 21. A Russian military satellite known as Kosmos-2612 moved dangerously near ICEYE-X36, coming within 200 meters by some estimates. LeoLabs said this was not a routine conjunction. Brian Hardesty, an adviser to the US Delegation, said the satellite exhibited threatening behavior consistent with an on-orbit weapons operation. Russia called US claims absurd and accused Washington of aggressive military space ambitions.

Gunmen Kill Seven and Wound 10 During Funeral at Church in Southern Jordan
Seven people were killed and 10 others injured, some critically, in a shooting at Hamoud Church in Karak Governorate in southern Jordan on Friday during a funeral procession. Two gunmen got out of a vehicle and opened fire during the procession from the church. An eyewitness in Karak said the attackers fired directly at the church while the funeral was taking place. Security forces were pursuing those responsible. Jordan’s Minister of Government Communication, Mohammad Hussein Al Momani, confirmed that security forces were responding on the ground and that an official statement would be issued once details had been verified.
Treasury Proposes Expanded Ban on U.S. Funding for Chinese Security Technologies
The Treasury Department proposed a rule Thursday expanding restrictions on U.S. investments in Chinese technologies that threaten national security. The rule would ban funding for superintelligence AI systems, quantum computers, advanced chips, hypersonic missiles, gene therapies, toxin engineering, and brain-computer interface research. It implements the Comprehensive Outbound Investment Security Act signed in December. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the regulations would prevent adversaries from using U.S. investment to develop critical technologies that threaten national security. Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) called it a major step toward stopping the offshoring of crown-jewel technologies. The rule expands to Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela. Public comments are open until Dec. 7.
