Arc of Justice had previously disbursed millions to Code Pink and related groups while Benjamin served in overlapping roles. Democratic Socialist and Islamo-Communist Mamdani Urges Party to Move Further Left Ahead of 2028
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist and a demonstrated Islamo-Communist, told a Brooklyn rally on June 18 that the Democrat Party will lose the White House in 2028 unless it changes course. Speaking alongside Sen. Bernie Sanders (DS-VT) at a get-out-the-vote event for progressive congressional candidates, Mamdani said the party has long managed decline rather than delivering material change for working people. He warned that the old approach would fail in early primary states and fall short of 270 electoral votes. Mamdani called for an affirmative agenda without apology and framed the New York primaries as the start of the 2028 race.
Former DSA Organizer Says Group Does Not Tolerate Dissent and Has Grown More Radical
Former Democratic Socialists of America organizer Jake Altman said in an interview that the organization no longer tolerates internal dissent and has shifted toward more extreme positions. Altman, who joined in 2013 when the group was more social-democratic, described how younger activists advanced Leninist views and eroded resistance to communism. He stated that anti-communism became forbidden and that dissenters face coordinated mob tactics, including online denunciations and smears. Altman noted a divide between casual paper members and hardcore cadre who drive the radical agenda. He left the group in 2022 after witnessing its transformation into what he called a revolutionary organization.

Fauci Privately Flagged Theoretical Miscarriage Risk From COVID Vaccine While Publicly Claiming No Red Flags
Newly released text messages from Dr. Anthony Fauci’s government phone show that in January 2021 he privately raised a theoretical risk that the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine could be linked to first-trimester miscarriage due to cytokine storm and fever. In a Jan. 25 exchange with then-CDC Director Rochelle Walensky and Vivek Murthy, Fauci wrote that the reaction “theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester.” Walensky called it a good point. Days later, on Feb. 3, Fauci publicly stated during a JAMA livestream that the FDA had found “no red flags” regarding pregnant women. He later told the public there was no indication of increased adverse issues among vaccinated pregnant women tracked by the CDC. Sens. Ron Johnson and Rand Paul released the texts from more than 34,000 messages recovered from the phone.

Arizona Democrat Gov. Hobbs Tactically Plans To Pick Republican Running Mate In Reelection Bid
Arizona Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs is reportedly selecting former Mesa Mayor John Giles, a longtime Republican, as her lieutenant governor running mate for the 2026 reelection campaign, according to reports citing unnamed sources familiar with the decision. Neither Hobbs nor Giles has confirmed the choice. Hobbs faces Republican Rep. Andy Biggs, who holds President Donald Trump’s endorsement, after securing a narrow 2022 win with support from moderate Republicans and independents. A 2022 ballot measure created the lieutenant governor position, making this November’s contest the first in which Arizona voters will elect a governor and lieutenant governor on the same ticket. Giles served as Mesa mayor and has previously crossed party lines in endorsements.

Undercover Video Shows Iranian Noncitizens Including Sex Offenders Registered to Vote in Michigan Primary
O’Keefe Media Group released undercover video on Aug. 8, 2026, showing election workers in Michigan confirming that two individuals identified in federal court and DHS records as non-U.S. citizens from Iran appeared on voter rolls and could receive ballots without ID. One subject, Afshin Masheli, is listed as an Iranian national, registered sex offender and prior DHS “Worst of the Worst” list entry after ICE arrest; he told an undercover journalist he had voted in the prior three elections and planned to vote that day in the Aug. 4 primary. A second subject, Fazlollah Haritash, is also identified in federal records as a noncitizen with sex-offense convictions and is listed as incarcerated on Michigan’s public sex-offender registry; workers confirmed his name remained on the rolls. Michigan law restricts voting to U.S. citizens. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon had written Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson on July 6, 2026, warning that knowingly retaining noncitizens on the rolls and issuing or counting their ballots violates the National Voter Registration Act.
Political Grifter, Gavin Newsom, Backs El Sayed in Michigan Amid Extremist Claims
California Gov. Gavin Newsom campaigned in Michigan over the weekend for Democrat candidates and planned to meet Monday with progressive U.S. Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed. Newsom rejected Republican characterizations of El-Sayed as an extremist, telling a United Auto Workers crowd in Oakland County that opponents seek to “flood the zone with this narrative.” He said the Senate race will run through Michigan and called getting behind El-Sayed important for a tough November contest against former US Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI). Leftist Professors Denounce Niceness As Form Of White Privilege In School Police Study
A recent academic paper argues that school resource officers use “niceness as Whiteness” to justify arrests of students. The study, titled “Niceness as Whiteness in School Police Officers’ Perceptions of Student Arrest,” was authored by Vanderbilt postdoctoral fellow Abigail Beneke and professors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Florida, and George Mason University. Researchers found officers generally try to avoid arrests but claim that when arrests occur, officers’ expressions of empathy, positive relationships with students, and efforts to minimize harm function as a coping mechanism that upholds systems of Whiteness. The paper describes niceness as an enduring component of Whiteness that allows predominantly White people to maintain a sense of benevolence while contributing to racial inequality. Coverage of the study has highlighted its framing of ordinary professional conduct by school police as evidence of racial privilege.

Democratic Socialists of America co-chair Megan Romer said in a New Yorker interview that she began her path to the organization as a “Jon Stewart liberal” who got most of her news from the comedian. Romer described being horrified and baffled after Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss before a folk singer invited her to a DSA meeting. In the same interview, she stated that the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel was “largely inevitable,” attributing it to conditions in Gaza that she described as an open-air concentration camp. Romer also indicated she probably would have attended a pro-Hamas rally the day after the attack.
Family Claims Christian Grandmother Euthanized Against Her Will Under Canada MAID Program
An 83-year-old Canadian grandmother, Brigitte Stegemann, died by medical assistance in dying on July 10 at a long-term care facility in Belleville, Ontario, after a stage four stomach cancer diagnosis. Her family says she was a devout Christian who had previously declined MAID because it conflicted with her faith. Granddaughter Brigitte Kranendonk, who held power of attorney, stated that facility staff discussed MAID with Stegemann privately while she was away. A physician deemed Stegemann capable despite her inability to answer basic questions about her family. Stegemann later expressed shock at the scheduled procedure, according to the family, which alleges the process proceeded without proper consent or regard for her stated wishes.

Iran Appoints Hardline Military Commanders as Security Chief Insists Hormuz Stays Closed Until US Meets Demands
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has appointed six veteran hardliners to top military and security posts, formalizing a wartime command structure after earlier losses of senior officers. The moves include naming Ahmad Vahidi as Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander, Ali Abdollahi as Armed Forces chief of staff, Ali Ozmaei as IRGC Navy commander, Hossein Taeb as Basij head, and deputies Kioumars Heydari and Mostafa Izadi. The appointments followed Mohsen Rezaei’s selection as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. A U.S. military helicopter fired a missile at the rudder of the Panama-flagged container ship Vela Nova early Tuesday after its crew ignored multiple warnings while attempting to run the American naval blockade of Iranian ports in the Gulf of Oman. The strike, about 71 nautical miles off Pakistan’s coast, disabled the vessel and sparked a fire that was later extinguished, according to a U.S. official and maritime security firm Vanguard. All 17 crew members were accounted for with no reported casualties, and the ship appeared to transfer its crew to another civilian vessel afterward. Two French Police Officers Stabbed by Knife-Wielding Attacker Shouting Allahu Akbar

Syrian Court Sentences Ousted Leader Bashar Al-Assad To Death In Absentia
A Syrian court on Tuesday sentenced former president Bashar al-Assad to death in absentia after convicting him of premeditated murder, including of children, torture, arbitrary arrest, and crimes against humanity during the country’s nearly 14-year civil war. The Fourth Criminal Court in Damascus also handed death sentences in absentia to Assad’s brother Maher, who commanded the Fourth Armored Division, and to several other former officials, while Assad’s cousin and former Deraa political security chief Atef Najib received the same penalty after standing trial in person inside a courtroom cage. Assad fled to Russia after rebels toppled his regime in December 2024 and has received asylum there; Syrian authorities have called for his extradition, which Moscow has so far declined. Crowds gathered outside the Damascus courthouse and in Deraa to mark the first such convictions against the former dictator and members of his inner circle since the Assad family’s five-decade rule ended.
Russia Frees Former US Marine Robert Gilman After Four Years of Detention
