The Time Of Reckoning For The Hate-Filled Has Come
In the aftermath of the failed assassination attempt on former president and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump Saturday, it is stunning to have to make a plea for cooler heads to prevail. But, after listening and reading some of the morbid and wholly irresponsible comments about the shooting, it is apparent that some on the blood-thirsty Left need to be told. Knock it off!
Before anything else is said on the matter, in the wake of this attempt on Trump’s life, it is imperative that the Biden administration afford Secret Service protection to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Given the history of his family, it is unconscionable that he should be denied this protection going forward. The blame for this lack of humanity lies squarely at the feet of the Biden administration and his Obama 2.0 handlers.
That said, the blame – the overwhelming weight of the blame – for Saturday’s assassination attempt on Trump lies not with the gun manufacturer who made the weapon used in the attack, nor does it lie with the Secret Service for not securing all of the rooftops of adjacent buildings, a serious security flaw that must be addressed. The overwhelming brunt of the blame for this criminal act must be laid at the feet of the mainstream media pundits and Democrat officials who have been ramping up the hate rhetoric against Donald Trump for seven-and-a-half years.
The World Sees Who Is Responsible
A dear friend of mine from Belgium sent me a clip of a commentator on Sky News, Gabriella Power, saying much of what our media here should be saying in the aftermath of an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate. Yet, being an honest journalist unjaded by agenda – something impossible to find in America’s mainstream media industrial complex today, Power juxtaposes reality with the vicious calls for violence from the Leftist elites in the United States:
Not 24 hours had passed when the usual suspects on the far-Left side of the Democrat Party’s lunatic fringe started making declarations that the Trump campaign executed the assassination attempt in a move to garner more political support. A more disgusting suggestion has seldom been heard.
An article from the Associated Press – hardly a source devoid of mis- and dis-information – stated:
“...Some voices on the left quickly proclaimed the shooting to be a false flag concocted by Trump…
“Videos showing Secret Service agents moving audience members away from Trump before the shooting were offered as evidence that it was an inside job. Images of Trump’s defiantly raised fist were used to make the…claim that the whole event was staged by Trump.
“‘How did the [US Secret Service] allow him to stop and pose for a photo opp if there was real danger??’ wrote one user.”
In an article at Wired.com, David Gilbert writes:
“Two of the [X’s] trending topics after the shooting were ‘staged’ and ‘false flag,’ both of which centered on the baseless conspiracy that Trump’s own campaign team orchestrated the attack to make the former president look like a hero. Similar conspiracies spread on all major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
“‘This is the most staged thing I've seen in a long time,’ one X user wrote in a post viewed 1.6 million times. ‘He knows he's going to lose the election, so he fakes this shit and shouts to the crowd to fight.’”
To believe that all of this intellectually stunted rhetoric is organic; that it is not the byproduct of years of propagandistic cultivation, would be to exist as delusional in a delusional world. To paraphrase Samuel Taylor Coleridge, it would require the willing suspension of disbelief to hold to the idea that this base hatred wasn’t cultivated and fostered by political opportunists.
As Brad Polumbo points out in The Washington Examiner:
“...just days ago, the official ‘Biden HQ’ social media accounts shared a screenshot from The Handmaid’s Tale, a dystopian television series where women are forced into sex slavery, and absurdly suggested that this is the fate awaiting America under a second Trump term. So, too, Biden has repeatedly said that Trump represents an existential threat to democracy and also that Trump would be a ‘dictator’ if elected again...
“We’ve seen even more extreme rhetoric from left-leaning media outlets. MSNBC anchor Nicole Wallace suggested, with no basis, that if Trump wins, her show will be taken off air and we’ll see an end to a free press in America. Another MSNBC anchor, Joy Reid, recently described a second Trump term as “Hitler in the White House.” The New Republic even recently published a cover story styling Trump as Hitler.
“These are just examples from the past few weeks of hundreds if not thousands of doomsday, alarmist warnings about Trump we’ve seen from the left-of-center establishment.”
To the journalistic disgrace that is Joy Reid, MSNBC's continuing to employ her is nothing short of an insult to the American people. In fact, because they market their channel as a news channel, someone should sue them for deceptive advertising and marketing a defective product under the Lemon Law (and I am not punning anything here about Don Lemon).
The Hate-Fulled Elitist Left
But the mainstream media industrial complex isn’t the only elitist demographic to sow the seeds of hate and violence. Hollywood and the New York-based entertainment industry is choke full of haters:
Matt Damon: "[Trump] makes me nervous…There’s no way we can let this guy be the [president]. To let that dude have the nuclear football, are you kidding me? That’s dangerous. He’s impulsive and rash, and doesn’t seem to think deeply about too many things."
Margaret Cho: "Just the nastiest. @realDonaldTrump, you literally have no moral fiber. You’re like no ply toilet paper. Just trash."
George Clooney: “He’s just an opportunist. Now he’s a fascist; a xenophobic fascist.”
George Takei: "Trump is a cancer on our democracy. He must be rejected by all patriots, for the good of our national identity and values."
Kate Walsh: "This is a national disaster. An illiterate, bigoted, misogynistic, racist, rapist has become president. I have no words."
Jennifer Lawrence: "If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world" (she said that the only words she’d want to say to Trump when she meets him are "Fuck you.")
John Legend: "He lies with a kind of cavalier frequency. He’s spread bigotry and hatred and division on a regular basis. He shows no interest or understanding for any sort of policy depth, and I feel like he’s uniquely unqualified to be president…He doesn’t deserve to be elected dog catcher in your local county."
Chrissy Teigen: "@realDonaldTrump settle down Adolf Putin" (she’s taken to social media, calling Trump a "twat" on X and a "monumental asshole" on Instagram).
Ariel Winter: "America, you have failed. What the actual fuck. Devastating. I won't recognize @realDonaldTrump as our president, ever. #ducktrucktrump." — Ariel Winter in a tweet.
Chris Evans: "This is an embarrassing night for America. We've let a hatemonger lead our great nation. We've let a bully set our course. I'm devastated."
Cher: “...consummate liar, doesn’t care who [he] hurts, insane; a sociopathic narcissist. I just wish he’d fall off the face of the Earth…let’s throw Trump in a volcano."
Mac Miller: "You know what I’mma do if you get elected? I’m staying right the fuck here, that’s right. I’m not going anywheeere. I’mma be here every day telling the world how much I hate you, how much of a clown you are, and how we as a nation are better than you will ever be."
Seth MacFarlane: "I truly cannot visualize the rambling, incoherent creature I saw at the debates now addressing the nation from the Oval Office." — Seth MacFarlane in a tweet on election night.
Amanda Seyfried: "Didn’t think I was capable of feeling hatred like this. The biggest insult to our country is this snorting piece of garbage."
Rob Reiner: “Definition of Insanity: Millions of Americans wanting a President who is a Pathological Liar, a Rapist, a Convicted Felon who led a Deadly Insurrection to Overthrow the United States Government. But this is where we are.”
Robert De Niro: “He’s so blatantly stupid. He’s a punk, he’s a dog, he’s a pig, he’s a con – a bullshit artist. A mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, doesn’t do his homework, doesn’t care, thinks he’s gaming society, doesn’t pay his taxes. He’s an idiot...I’d like to punch him in the face.”
Louis C.K.: "Please stop it with voting for Trump. It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that, I mean that we are being Germany in the 30s…”
Frighteningly, this gives us some insight into how the spoiled, elitist far-Left thinks and to what extent they are willing to go to attain and maintain power. They are willing to foment hatred to the point of – and past – inciting acts of violence. These are dangerous people with a dangerous agenda.
The Left’s Violent Conflict Resolution Mentality
The facts are indisputable. The three last assassination attempts were perpetrated against Republican presidents or presidential candidates: Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, and now Donald Trump. Two of those deranged shooters were exposed as Leftist Democrats; the information is still blurry on Timothy Matthew Crooks.
The shooter at the Republican practice for the 2017 annual congressional baseball game was a left-wing activist who supported Bernie Sanders. The ten-minute shootout between James Hodgkinson resulted in the shooting of six people, including US House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, US Capitol Police Officer Crystal Griner, congressional aide Zack Barth, and lobbyist Matt Mika.
In listening to the montage in the Sky News video above, you can see that elected Democrats have no issue with calling their constituents to violence. Their complacency during the cross-country riots in the summer of 2020 and their reluctance to condemn the pro-Hamas campus unrest in 2024 serve to illustrate the political Left’s morally relativistic hypocrisy when it comes to tolerance, diversity of thought, and inclusion.
And now, we have a mainstream media complex so desperate to remain relevant that organizations like CNN soft peddle headlines about an assassination attempt on a former president and current presidential candidate while amplifying the hatred of the ignorant elitist class. At the same time, elitist media outlets retain racists like Joy Reid and ignoramuses like Rachel Maddow to continue their cultivation of hatred in our Republic.
No one is afforded a right to a position of influence in the public square. Those positions are earned and bestowed by the people, not news organizations or Hollywood studios. It is well past time that the American public purge these voices of hate and division from the public square, not canceling them, but removing the prestige of influence from them; let them rant like lunatics of old to the sound of one hand clapping.
If The Shoe Was On The Other Foot
In her first statement after the assassination attempt on her husband, Melania Trump said:
“To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering from this heinous act, I humbly offer my sincerest sympathy. Your need to summon your inner strength for such a terrible reason saddens me. I am thinking of you, now, my fellow Americans. Dawn is here again. Let us reunite. Now.
“We all want a world where respect is paramount, family is first, and love transcends. We can realize this world again. Each of us must demand to get it back. We must insist that respect fills the cornerstone of our relationships, again.
“The winds of change have arrived. For those of you who cry in support, I thank you. I commend those of you who have reached out beyond the political divide – thank you for remembering that every single politician is a man or a woman with a loving family.”
Now ask yourself, in all honesty, would words like those ever cross the lips of Michelle Obama or Jill Biden if the assassination target was one of their husbands?
