The Problem With A Gaza Ceasefire
As the Biden administration and the terminally misinformed and under-educated of the GenZ and Millennial generations push for a ceasefire between Hamas and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza, two glaring truths seem to be falling through the cracks; truths that make the idea of a “ceasefire” self-defeating.
These truths are left unaddressed because the Biden administration and the GenZ/Millenial generations make the fatal mistake of looking at Islam and Islamofascist terrorism through Western eyes. To do so is to completely misunderstand the motives and tactics of a culture that has – since its inception – hated the West and its culture.
The two truths I speak of are familiar to those of us who have taken the time to research Islam, the Islamic culture, and Islamofascim devoid of the Western propensity to bestow victimhood on anyone who isn’t molded by Western culture. They are the hudna and al taqiyya.
The Hudna
Hudna can be translated accurately from Arabic to English – a rarity – as “truce” or “cease-fire.” Its contemporary usage by those in the West is exclusive to the conflict between Israel and its antagonists, whether Islamofascist terror groups (like Hamas) in Gaza, the West Bank, southern Lebanon, or states such as Syria.
Should victory seem remote for any Islamist force or danger be imminent, a truce or ceasefire is sought because the Islamist forces are weak relative to their enemies. These truces – or hudnas – serve as protection against further violence to enable Muslims to regroup and gather their strength, after which they can issue a fresh declaration of jihad, and lethal violence is resumed – usually without notice.
It is true that for the pious Islamist, jihad is waged against the entire world. But Israel has become its main focal point with the United States coming in a close second. Since jihad is understood by devout Islamists as unending – and since Israel is here to stay – there will be no end to the religiously fueled conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians. The Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement) covenant, to provide just a few examples, is unequivocal:
“Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Now and then the call goes out for the convening of an international conference to look for ways of solving the [Palestinian] question. Some accept others reject the idea, for this or other reason, with one stipulation or more for consent to convening the conference and participating in it. Knowing the parties constituting the conference, and their past and present attitudes towards Muslim problems, the Islamic Resistance Movement does not consider these conferences capable of realizing the demands, restoring the rights or doing justice to the oppressed. These conferences are only ways of setting the infidels in the land of the Muslims as arbitrators...”
“Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine. Its religious, historical, and civilizational status is fundamental to the Arabs, Muslims, and the world at large….Not one stone of Jerusalem can be surrendered or relinquished. The measures undertaken by the occupiers in Jerusalem, such as Judaization, settlement building, and establishing facts on the ground are fundamentally null and void…”
“Hamas believes that no part of the land of Palestine shall be compromised or conceded, irrespective of the causes, the circumstances, and the pressures and no matter how long the occupation lasts. Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea…”
“Hamas rejects any attempt to undermine the resistance and its arms. It also affirms the right of our people to develop the means and mechanisms of resistance. Managing resistance, in terms of escalation or de-escalation, or in terms of diversifying the means and methods, is an integral part of the process of managing the conflict and should not be at the expense of the principle of resistance…”
So, while the Biden administration and the neophytes of the GenZ/Millenial generations clamor for a ceasefire, Hamas stands in full support of their efforts because where the West sees a “ceasefire” to facilitate humanitarian aid, Hamas sees an opportunity to re-group, re-arm, re-strategize, and commence hostilities again. Where the West sees ceasefire Hamas sees hudna.
Al Taqiyya
If you have followed my writing for any significant amount of time, you know I believe a major obstacle to peace for Islamists is that its culture embraces al taqiyya. Its embrace of this tenet makes it impossible to negotiate anything in good faith.
Muslim scholars teach that Islamists should generally be truthful, that is unless the purpose of lying is to “gain the upper hand over an enemy.” They teach that there are several forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted, the best known being taqiyya.
Taqiyya is permitted when the cause of Islam can be advanced and when by gaining the trust of non-believers their vulnerability can be drawn out so that they can be compromised, marginalized, and – ultimately – defeated.
Leaders in the Middle East – and especially the leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Iranian mullahs – often say one thing to English-speaking audiences and Western media and then something entirely different to their own people in Arabic. Palestinian leaders routinely tell Westerners – from governments to organizations to the media – about their desire for peace with Israel, but in Arabic they whip Palestinians into a hateful and violent frenzy against Jews and the West. Yassir Arafat openly referenced hudaibiya – an admission to purposely misleading gullible non-Muslims in the form of taqiyya.
So, with taqiyya as a central and condoned tenet of the Islamic faith, how can any non-Islamist believe anything any Islamist in a position of authority has to offer? It brings to mind the old Doobie Brothers song, “What a Fool Believes.”
The Big Lies & The Fools
So, as the Israelis rightfully seek to vanquish an unyielding foe in Hamas; an enemy that sees no end to its conflict with the Israelis but for the elimination of every Jew “from the river to the sea,” we understand that the premise for the Biden administration and the petulantly arrogant pro-Hamas protestors of the GenZ/Millenium generations regarding a “ceasefire” is founded on an enormous ignorance of the Islamist culture and bait-like misinformation disseminated by a disingenuous Islamist propaganda apparatus that has hooked them into the realm of the useful idiot.
The status of Palestinians as victims remains a central plank in their contemporary platform, albeit a false-flag plank. The Western audiences and useful idiots of the political and activist classes may have become accustomed to such claims, but those claims are born of deceit. In the eyes of Islamists, they are triumphalists: they have conquered; they have converted; and they have successfully deceived the free world and its leaders as they seek to establish a global Islamic caliphate.
As they use taqiyya to deflect focus onto the concept of Islamophobia, in reality, they are misrepresenting criticism as fear and disingenuously justifying violent reaction to any offense – real or imagined. Culpability for their violence is placed entirely on outside forces and most often on the targets of their ire.
This said and understood, how do the leaders of the West dare to insist that the Israelis enter into a “ceasefire” with these bloodthirsty tormentors let alone refrain from ending their days on the planet?
As for the contemptible blowhards of the ignorant, arrogant, vacuous, virtue-signaling GenZ/Millenial generation pro-Hamas movement, the stain of your stupidity will not soon dull.
