The ‘New & Inclusive’ Taliban Comes Full Sharia Law Circle After Biden’s Afghan Withdrawal
All women in Afghanistan must be covered head to toe in public, Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada, head of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, decreed Saturday in a move that brings the ruthless and murderous reign of the Taliban back full circle to pre-September 11th, 2001.
In a statement announcing the decree, the Taliban ordered that a woman’s father or closest male relative would be visited by authorities and could be imprisoned or terminated from government jobs if she refused to comply with the order.
The order also strongly suggests that it is best for women to “stay in the home” if they don’t have important work that requires them to be in public. The decree further orders that women visit parks in the capital on separate days from men.
An official from the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue & The Prevention of Vice told reporters:
“For all dignified Afghan women wearing Hijab is necessary and the best Hijab is chadori (the head-to-toe burqa) which is part of our tradition and is respectful...Those women who are not too old or young must cover their face, except the eyes."
The all-male ministry replaced Afghanistan’s Ministry of Women’s Affairs last year after the Taliban regained control of the nation.
“We want our sisters to live with dignity and safety,” said Khalid Hanafi, the acting director of the ministry, adding, “Islamic principles and Islamic ideology are more important to us than anything else.”
History Repeats Itself
Shortly after its creation, the ministry imposed new rules, restricting women’s rights to travel more than 45 miles without related male escorts. This rule was stepped up to include traveling abroad. Similar rules were imposed, including prohibiting women from access to healthcare without a related male charge in several healthcare centers.
The Taliban have also reversed course on reopening schools to girls above the 6th Grade, breaching prior pledges and drawing international uproar.
After President Biden’s disastrous, inept, and inhumane withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, the Taliban promised to execute a softer, more “globally acceptable” government in the run-up to the Islamofascist group – which harbored Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda prior to the 9/11 attacks – reassuming power in August of 2021.
At the time, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said:
“Women will be afforded all their rights, whether it is at work or other activities because women are a key part of society. And we are guaranteeing all their rights within the limits of Islam."
What Is Old Is New Again
The treatment of women in the fundamentalist Islamofascist culture is nothing short of brutal. Females in the fundamentalist Islamic culture – of which the Afghan women are a part – are relegated to the status of possessions. They are subjected to incredibly harsh and degrading cultural edicts where transgressions are punished – justified under Sharia Law by elements such as the Taliban – by whippings, beatings, stonings, and death.

“The revered Islamic scholar, Abu Hamed Mohammad al-Ghazzali, who has been called ‘the greatest Muslim after Muhammad,’ writes that the role of a Muslim woman is to:
“‘...stay at home and get on with her sewing. She should not go out often, she must not be well-informed, nor must she be communicative with her neighbors. She should only visit them when absolutely necessary; she should take care of her husband...and seek to satisfy him in everything...Her sole worry should be her virtue...She should be clean and ready to satisfy her husband’s sexual needs at any moment.’”
This is the mindset of today’s Taliban leaders in Afghanistan. They want a full return to Sharia Law in their country; a return to an oppressive totalitarian rule that treated women as chattel.
The litany of transgressions against female humanity at the hand of fundamentalist Islam is countless:
The testimony of a woman in courts of law that use Sharia as their basis for justice recognizes the testimony of women as only half that of a man.
A husband has the right to beat his wife for perceived disobedience or misconduct, including: If she does not attempt to make herself beautiful for him; If she refuses to meet his sexual demands; If she leaves the house without his permission or a “legitimate reason”; Or if she neglects her religious duties.
Girls as young as nine years old are routinely sold into marriage, often to men many decades their senior.
Women are routinely subjected to the Islamic cultural malady known as honor killings and genital mutilation.
A “disrespectful” wife can be sequestered into “wife rooms,” rooms within the family home in which women are confined with no food or water for a length of time determined by her captor husband.
In addition, under Sharia Law, sexual assault, or rape, can only be proven if the rapist confesses or if no less than four male witnesses come forward to testify to the rape had occurred. Women who allege they have been raped are perceived under Sharia Law as having had sex outside of their marriage. Without the benefit of four male witnesses to the attack, the attack itself is considered to be adultery and punishable by death, most often in smaller villages by stoning.

“In a stoning death, the woman’s hands are tied behind her back and her body is placed in a cloth sack. Then, when she is securely ‘packaged’ she is brought to a hole located in the center of a circle, predetermined in size, and buried up to her shoulders. After she has been affixed in the hole people start chanting ‘Allah hu Akbar’ – or god is great – and proceed to throw palm-sized stones at her head from a designated distance. The stones are thrown until she dies or until she escapes from the hole and crosses out of the circle.”
The Darker Side Of Going Back To The Future
This is the mindset that is now back in power in Afghanistan. This is why so many of us who remember learning about the barbarity of the Islamofascist culture were screaming when the inept and agenda-driven Biden administration left freedom-loving Afghans to a future under Taliban rule.
Now, as the agenda drivers of the Biden administration and the fascist Left in our federal government recklessly court confrontation with Russia over Ukraine, we must look at how they mismanage our military and diplomacy apparatuses. We must acknowledge and come to grips with the fact that everything the Biden administration and the fascist Social Democrats touches turns into garbage; that they endanger both the people of the United States and the people they insist they are helping in their complete narcissistic ineptitude.
Meanwhile, as the elite of the fascist Left flies home for Mother’s Day in their government planes and on the taxpayers’ dime, there is no Mother’s Day for the women of Afghanistan thanks to Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the rest of the gratuitous power junkies in our federal government.
