Some News Slipping Under The Radar
I am introducing a new item I call “Under the Radar,” an occasional edition highlighting noteworthy news items to which we should all be paying attention. If we are to navigate the misleading mainstream information we need to cull the fluff and the sensationalism so that we can focus on the things that are affecting our future. It is my hope you will find some worth in this by supporting Underground USA.
Rachel Levine Demands Tech Companies Censor Gender-Related ‘Misinformation’
From Townhall.com:
“Democrats, including and especially the Biden administration, have made some rather concerning comments about social media, tech companies, and censorship. It appears that Dr. Rachel Levine, a biological man who serves as the Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), has called for such censorship for at least several months now, as evidenced by a video that Levine gave at the end of May that surfaced on Twitter on Monday morning.”
As the Twitter Files expose the unholy alliance between the US federal government and social media platforms, it is stunning that a department head would continue to brazenly advocate for censorship – of any kind.
The notion of freedom of speech being subjective should be incredibly offensive to everyone who understands the value of freedom. The freedoms we are guaranteed in the Bill of Rights are not bestowed by the government. They are inalienable and are a state in which we live constantly. In fact, the Bill of Rights exists as a warning to the government as to their limitations.
That Levine is advocating for censorship – that anyone in government is advocating for censorship – should be the indication they are not fit for public office in any capacity.
George Santos Admits To Lying On Campaign Trail But Maintains He'll Take Office
From The Washington Examiner:
“Rep.-elect George Santos (R-NY). admitted to lying about his education and work experience while campaigning during the midterm elections but remained adamant he would assume office in the next Congress anyway.
“Santos was elected to Congress in November after defeating Democratic candidate Robert Zimmerman to represent New York’s 3rd Congressional District. Shortly after his victory, several aspects of his resume came under scrutiny after a report from the New York Times found he fabricated details about his education and employment history.”
Those who are vocal when the Left corrupts elections must be just as outraged at this story. If we are to get back to good – or even in the same solar system as good – we have to hold the entirety of the political class to a much higher standard than we do.
The political election process has always been subject to embellishment, but we have fallen into accepting flat-out lying as a status quo, and one, increasingly, without consequence. This leads the unethical (which today is an overwhelming majority in the elected class) to believe they can get away with lying to, deceiving, and manipulating the voters at will.
Santos should be charged with any and all laws that pertain to deceptive advertising, after all, isn’t that what campaigning is, advertising; or selling a bill of goods? With those charges, the House should not accept him as a member (they can do that) and force New York to hold a special election to fill the seat representing New York’s 3rd Congressional District.
The Right has to be just as brutal – if not more – in holding those running for offices of public service to a higher standard. If we don’t then we can’t complain about the Clintons, the Bidens, the Pelosis or the Schumers, etc.
Katie Hobbs And Maricopa County Ask Judge For Sanctions Against Kari Lake, Her Lawyers
From The Epoch Times:
“The Arizona Secretary of State’s office and Maricopa County on Monday petitioned a judge to sanction GOP candidate Kari Lake after her election-related lawsuit was rejected over the weekend.
“On Monday, the two parties filed a motion in the Maricopa County Superior Court against Lake and her legal team.
“‘Courts are established by Arizona’s Constitution and statutes to resolve actual disputes between parties,’ Maricopa County Deputy Attorney Thomas P. Liddy wrote Monday in a 15-page memo, asking Judge Peter Thompson for the sanctions and attorneys fees. ‘They do not exist so that candidates for political office can attempt to make political statements and fundraise. And they should not be used to harass political opponents and sow completely unfounded doubts about the integrity of elections. All of those things happened in this matter.’
“Hobbs’s legal team joined the motion for sanctions, according to court documents.”
It is unconscionable that a sitting Secretary of State, whose purview included overseeing the election in which she was a candidate – and an election that was very close in its result, would refuse to recuse herself from purview over that election. It doubles the assault on the voters’ intelligence that she and a governmental entity would openly attack a political opponent in seeking to question ethical standards and the quality of oversight of the election given Hobbs’ grotesque conflict of interest.
This is a perfect example of exactly what their petition seeks to penalize Lake for doing: filing a frivolous lawsuit. But it is worse than that. This also seeks to punish a political opponent for purely political reasons. These are the actions of the desperate and the disingenuous; they are the actions of power-hungry tyrants who have no business being on the same page as the phrase “public service.”
If this is a sign of things to come as to the level of ethics Hobbs will have as Arizona’s governor, the people are in for four years of political opportunism that sets that state on the course to achieve a status of dysfunctionality understood in California, New York, Oregon, and Illinois.
World News Round-up: Modern Day Stasi Tactics
From Dr. Robert Malone’s Substack:
“Governments all over the world are using surveillance data collected on the net, and have now expanded their reach by using COVID-19 tracking technology – just as ‘conspiracy theorists’ had feared would be the case. These governments and NGOs seem to think – in a naive kind of ‘hope’ – that if they only have enough data, they could control the world and bend reality to their objectives.
“As had been feared, it now turns out that governments are using the COVID-19 tech to follow, track down, investigate and arrest people for reasons that have nothing to do with COVID. COVID-19 exposure, tracking, and contract tracing tools have become all-purpose tools for biosecurity surveillance states.”
Many of us warned about the many governments’ kneejerk want for COVID IDs, passports, and tracking apps. This compilation of information about how governments around the world are abusing these products to covertly track and intimidate people for purposes wholly unrelated to COVID is a must-read.
Sadly, alarmingly, infuriatingly, we live in a time when no government – at any level – can be trusted. Add to that the growing list of NGOs – and especially the power junkies of the World Economic Forum – that believe it is their right to socially engineer the future, and we must jealously guard our freedoms…today, they are slipping away from us.
