Political Reprobates Of The Left Prove Their Lust For Power Eclipses All
As if the world needed any more proof that the globalist-aligned, neo-fascist American Left has a debilitating addiction to power, now comes the 2023 “selling of the souls” in the politically-motivated packaging of aid to Israel and a new traunch money for the terrorist-sponsoring state of Iran.
These two issues serve as icing on the cake to an already jam-packed mix of egregious absurdity, i.e. Critical Race Theory; Diversity, equity, and Inclusion; systemic racism; gender fluidity; and everything to do with the World Economic Forum and the globalist cabal. Anyone with even the semblance of logic and common sense can’t help but find this type of politicking nauseating, ignorant, self-centered, and – ultimately – destructive.
Exhibit A
Last week, FOX News reported Senate Democrats did the unthinkable. They played Beltway politics with the issue of standing up firmly in support of our greatest ally in the Middle East:
“Senate Democrats blocked a stand-alone Israel aid package led by Sen. Roger Marshall, (R-KS), Tuesday after a lengthy debate on the chamber floor.
“Marshall sought unanimous consent for the House’s version of the package, which passed the lower chamber with bipartisan support on Nov. 2 and would earmark $14.3 billion reallocated from funds meant for the IRS in President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act. Senators Marshall, Ted Cruz (R-TX), JD Vance (R-OH), and Mike Lee (R-UT), introduced the Senate version last month.
“But Democrats shot down the effort because the package does not include aid to Ukraine…”
Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), who chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee, was the first among several Democrats who objected, insisting that any aid funding should support both Ukraine and Israel, saying, “The global challenges we face are all connected, and they’re all urgent.”
Murray failed to explain how the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is connected to the Ukraine-Russia conflict or why Ukraine should be viewed equally in status to Israel.
Exhibit B
If that weren’t agonizingly contorted enough, just a day earlier The Washington Free Beacon reported that President Joe Biden is considering yet another traunch of billions for the terrorist-financing Iranian mullahs:
“The Biden administration may approve a sanctions waiver on [November 12] that will allow Iran to access at least $10 billion in previously frozen funds held in Iraq, a closely watched decision that comes just a month after the Tehran-backed terror group Hamas launched an attack on Israel that left 1,200 dead.
“The waiver would extend the multibillion-dollar sanctions relief first issued in July that expires tomorrow. It allows Iraq to transfer frozen electricity payments into Iranian-owned bank accounts in Europe and Oman. The waiver renewal is driving concerns that the Biden administration is maintaining financial avenues for Tehran as the country’s terrorist proxies foment chaos across the Middle East.”
This sanctions waiver has since been extended, thus culminating in a whopping $16 billion facilitated to the mullahs of Iran. Richard Goldberg of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies said in an opinion piece, “Even if the money goes for ‘humanitarian purposes' – as the US contends – this frees up funds for terrorism. Iran sends some $700 million to Hezbollah and at least $100 million to Palestinian terrorists annually…”
To drill this malfeasance down to a granular level, the Biden administration and congressional Democrats are weighing the financial support playing field in favor of Hamas, a State Department-declared terrorist group. How is that not – by definition – providing material support for terrorism?
Providing Material Support To A Terrorist Organization
The Legal Information Institute at Cornell University defines “material support” and cites the applicable code respectively:
“...the term ‘material support or resources’ means any property, tangible or intangible, or service, including currency or monetary instruments or financial securities, financial services, lodging, training, expert advice or assistance, safehouses, false documentation or identification, communications equipment, facilities, weapons, lethal substances, explosives, personnel, and transportation, except medicine or religious materials…”
And…
“Whoever provides material support or resources or conceals or disguises the nature, location, source, or ownership of material support or resources, knowing or intending that they are to be used in preparation for, or in carrying out, a violation of section 32, 37, 81, 175, 229, 351, 831, 842(m) or (n), 844(f) or (i), 930(c), 956, 1091, 1114, 1116, 1203, 1361, 1362, 1363, 1366, 1751, 1992, 2155, 2156, 2280, 2281, 2332, 2332a, 2332b, 2332f, 2340A, or 2442 of this title, section 236 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (42 U.S.C. 2284), section 46502 or 60123(b) of title 49, or any offense listed in section 2332b(g)(5)(B) (except for sections 2339A and 2339B) or in preparation for, or in carrying out, the concealment of an escape from the commission of any such violation, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 15 years, or both, and, if the death of any person results, shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life.”
Because of the existence of these statutes, the Biden administration exists in violation of US counter-terrorism laws and is executing criminal acts by facilitating both Iran’s terror financing apparatus, and knowingly financing terrorist organizations directly.
Meanwhile, with congressional Democrats obstructing votes to legislate emergency military aid packages to Israel – the victim of Hamas and Hezbollah’s violent aggression, they are able to feign concern for the Israeli people while placating the bloodlust of the pro-Palestinian Left before the upcoming elections even as they divert the blame for their abandonment of the Israeli people on the ridiculous notion that aid to Ukraine is somehow connected to Israel’s plight.
Exhausting Political Opportunism
This instance of disingenuous political opportunism at the hands of congressional Democrats illustrates their lust for power at any cost. This is the byproduct of a combination of two things:
Saul Alinsky’s “slash and burn,” “win at all cost,” political strategy that would rather see the nation end than the Left cede power
The complete embrace of moral relativism allowing for a fluidity to truth; a fluidity to “right and wrong.”
And when you incorporate that arrogance into the status quo inside-the-beltway political practice of combining unrelated issues into packaged legislation, even the most genuine and righteous of efforts can be derailed by those who put their lust and addiction to power above what is right and what is wrong.
As I wrote in my most recent book, Nullification: The Case for Decentralizing the Federal Government:
“One of the primary benefits of stand-alone legislation is the improved transparency and accountability it brings to the legislative process. By focusing on specific issues, stand-alone legislation allows legislators, experts, and the public to more thoroughly scrutinize and better understand the proposed laws. This increased visibility facilitates robust debates, informed decision-making, and a higher level of legislative oversight.
“Moreover, stand-alone legislation simplifies the task of tracking the progress and impact of specific laws, making it easier for citizens to hold their representatives accountable as each is on record for their singular vote on any specific subject. This eliminates the tired old and often-used excuse by elected officials that they voted for or couldn’t vote for a piece of legislation because of an amendment to the bill. It also eliminates the ability of disingenuous elected officials to add amendments they know would damage or destroy any specific piece of legislation.”
We Can Help Our Allies & Help Ourselves
As the Israelis fight for the right to exist against US-funded terror groups, and as the American people exist continually embarrassed at the incompetence of our federal government, it is time to disrupt the cycle of stupidity that allows the elitist apparatchik influencers, media mouthpieces, and obsolete top-heavy political party leadership from offering up – yet again – a choice between the lesser of two evils.
It is time for the states to claw back power from the federal government, resetting it to its original role of simply being the caulk that affixes our federal system together.
With the decentralization of the federal government to empower the states, the people can once again determine their own destiny; who they support and choose to aid (as the people of Florida did in their legislated support of the Israeli people and Florida’s Jewish community), to whom they want to provide aid, what organizations (if any) they choose to engage on the world stage.
The federal government and Deep State bureaucracy do not serve the will or the well-being of the American people. It’s time both were dismantled.
