‘Our Government Is Trying To Kill Us’
Many of us recognize that for almost a century our federal government has been expanding its authority over the states – and the people – in a way that is forbidden by the US Constitution. Using a contorted scheme of precedent law – not constitutional law but precedent law, the bureaucracy that is today the core of our government exists unaccountable to the American people and, by many of their actions, is a threat to our freedoms.
From the many Executive Branch cabinet-level departments to the myriad agencies created to serve them, our federal government has been transformed from a governing body that serves the people to an apparatus that not only puts political ideology and self-preservation before service to the citizenry but operates in a manner that expands its authority less the will of the people.
Exhibit A
A perfect example of this tyranny – and that is exactly what we are suffering today, tyranny at the hand of our own government – comes in a targeted and unilateral decision by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that threatens to crush an A-rated company that specializes in providing personal water filtration systems to millions of people in the United States and countless people around the world.
The Epoch Times reports:
“On Aug. 3, New Millennium Concepts [the parent company of the Berkey water filtration systems] filed a lawsuit in a Fort Worth federal court challenging the EPA's stop-sales order as ‘unjustified persecution.’
“‘They’re going after the vendors. It’s really a way of starving Berkey in the market so we have nothing available – that’s the problem,’ the company’s attorney, Warren Norred, [said]. ‘The sad reality is [government] control is its own reward. That’s where we are’...”
In 2022, the EPA ordered New Millennium Concepts to register its mechanical filter as a “pesticide device.” That demand was recently amended – elevated – to require the company to designate the water filtration system as a “pesticide” (ignore the paradoxical grammar issue there). Norred pointed out that the EPA made these demands without compliance with the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) guidelines.
It should be noted that Berkey has been a private sector business in good standing in the United States – and around the world – without incident or EPA regulatory oversight for over 25 years. There has never been a claim of harm from using a Berkey water filtration system.
About The Filters
Berkey water filtration systems use purification elements made of ceramic and compressed carbon and contain silver ions for killing bacteria, viruses, cysts, parasites, fungi, etc. These filters remove more than 200 impurities from EPA-approved drinking water, including heavy metals like lead and arsenic. Additionally, the use of the anti-viral silver in Berkey filters has been found to trap more than 99 percent of COVID strains.
With regard to the silver ions themself, the Berkey website states quite clearly:
“Silver is used as an antimicrobial so that each Berkey element can self-sterilize. Analysis was performed by an independent laboratory to ensure that the silver used does not dissolve in the purified water and this is exactly the case. The analysis concludes, "All control samples, including stock samples, positive and negative analytical controls, and the negative control collected prior to plating gave appropriate results and were accepted. Results for the leaching control samples (effluent sample spiked with MS2 and R. terrigena and analyzed at two time points) were quite similar, suggesting that no active antimicrobial agents dissolved in the treated water.”
New Millennium Concepts had previously agreed to designate Berkey water filters as “treated devices” because they do use silver to protect the filters that remove the pathogens through the use of a “tortuous maze of micropores.” But, evidently, that didn’t satisfy the EPA’s bureaucratic lust for regulatory power.
“The EPA has latched on to the use of silver to protect the filter, and said you’re using silver and you are making pesticidal claims – poof, you’re a pesticide,” Mr. Norred said.
The unilateral restructuring of the criteria used to categorize something as a pesticide essentially moved the goalposts on not only the Berkey water filtration systems but all personal water filtration systems.
“The EPA recently decided that the filters are actual pesticides…without notice or warning, [issuing] orders preventing Berkey filters from sale in some parts of the country and preventing their export,” Norred said.
Again, it is prudent to reiterate that there has never – ever – been a complaint citing harm to any individual anywhere because of the use of a Berkey water filtration system.
Quizzel Me This Batman…
Some points emerge here that should raise some eyebrows if not conjure a legitimate ire. But first, we should all remember the main purpose of the EPA and two major failures – recent failures – to that charter.
The Environmental Protection Agency is an independent agency of the United States government tasked with protecting the environment, generally. The agency conducts environmental assessment, research, and education, and has the responsibility of maintaining and enforcing national standards under a variety of environmental laws – laws created by Congress, in consultation with state, tribal, and local governments. The EPA’s powers to penalize include fines, sanctions, and other measures as the law allows.
That’s a pretty focused and restrained mission statement and one not open to loose interpretation. But that hasn’t stopped the power-hungry ideologues at the EPA.
Now for the EPA’s embarrassingly poor record as of late.
In West Virginia v. EPA, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to deny the Environmental Protection Agency the authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants under the Clean Air Act. The EPA had expanded its definition of authority under the Act.
At the core of this failure was the EPA’s attempt to unilaterally gerrymander its authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions but only after Congress failed to legislate it to do so.
Then there was the failure to provide oversight to a true public threat; a failure of the EPA to execute its main purpose.
In Flint, Michigan, a 2016 Inspector General’s report cited the EPA Region 5 – responsible for protecting human health and the environment in Michigan – for a failure to both respond and report the drinking water crisis that exposed tens of thousands to lead, causing a 58 percent spike in fetal deaths in the largely Black community.
According to Grist.org:
“Despite receiving 87 citizen complaints about water quality between May 2014 and January 2016 – including many that directly referenced lead – the EPA did not take any significant action before releasing an emergency order on Jan. 21, 2016.”
So, the EPA has established a track record of lusting for an expansion of authority – purely ideological in its base – while failing to execute the original purpose of its mission, sometimes with deadly results.
Red Flags And I Ain’t Talking China
With regard to the Berkey water filtration system issue, red flags were raised for me for a few reasons:
Why attack a company that has never had a single instance of complaint about its product?
Why attempt to redefine parameters to acquire more authority when the EPA has demonstrated its inability to execute its core mission – and ironically where contaminated water is concerned?
At a time when the federal government is desperately trying to gaslight the American people about the threat of COVID (again, purely for ideological and political purposes), why would the EPA attack a personal filtration system that traps more than 99 percent of COVID strains?
And through those points comes this question. Why aren’t the elected officials we have sent to Congress to represent us slapping down this rogue agency – and all of the bureaucratic rogue elements of the federal government?
Our Government Has Become A Major Health Threat
One 23-year nurse, medically retired because of the allergies she contracted in her service to others (and who is a Berkey proponent), was horrified by the EPA’s action. “It’s really hard not to believe that, and this is after the government – at every level – outright lied to the American people about COVID and the COVID vaccines, it’s really hard not to believe that our own government isn’t trying – purposefully – to kill us!”
Years back the subject of globalists running an agenda centered on population control would have typically garnered you an eyeroll. Today, it warrants an honest evaluation of the evidence presented, especially in the face of decisions like this from a bureaucratic strand of our federal government that is largely unaccountable to the people.
Consider also that the federal EPA is nothing more than a redundancy. Every state in the United States has its own department or agency tasked with safeguarding the environment. There is no need for a federal EPA other than to use it as an ideologically-based bully organization on a federal level. It is certainly a federal agency we can do without.
By the by, the elimination of the federal EPA could be easily achieved through the use of nullification by the individual state legislatures, a subject and operational blueprint I lay out in my book, Nullification: The Case for Decentralizing the Federal Government.
As to the bullying of New Millennium Concepts, the parent company of the Berkey water filtration systems, we must all lend a voice in opposing the EPA’s tyranny. If tyrants are allowed to control our food and water, we have already lost.
“There is a tyranny in the womb of every Utopia.”

Love my Berkey. Makes tapwater taste dirty and bottled water taste like plastic. Why would anyone want to go backwards?
I have used Berkey filtration for years with absolutely no problem!!! After a lot of research regarding water filtration....Berkey was my best choice. I live in the state of Florida and choose to live my life prepared so I'm not sticking my hand out for assistance every time a hurricane blows through. My Birkey supplied many people on our street safe drinking water during a hurricane that hit. No one had power to boil water and did not have enough water stored for two weeks. I literally took water from the storm and ran it through my Birkey for families on our street!!! The EPA is literally taking a life saving appliance out of the hands of people that need it!!! The letter agencies have got to be stopped in this country!!!! Enough is enough! "Control the food....control the water....control the people." Thanks to my dear departed Grandpaw for instilling that in my young mind many years ago.
