Gavin Newsom’s Special Brand of Neo-Bolshevik Marxism
Gavin Newsom, California's Governor, has emerged as one of the most polarizing politicians in the United States in recent years, much more so than Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton combined. A member of the Democrat Party, Newsom has been praised by neofascists, democratic socialists, and progressives for his work on issues such as climate change, gun control, and healthcare while being rightly criticized as a sycophant to each of those groups by those who uphold the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.
While Newsom's policies and leadership style have been celebrated by these segments of the far-Left electorate, many Americans – the majority of Americans in a majority of the states – view his approach to governance as totalitarian and steeped in neo-Marxism.
Put succinctly, Gavin Newsom would be damaging to the United States if he were elected president. Yet, in the aftermath of Joe Biden’s dismal debate performance in the first 2024 Presidential Debate, Newsom’s name is close to the lips of everyone on the political Left.
Newsom’s Socialist Economic Policies
One of the most significant concerns about a Newsom presidency is his economic policies. As Governor of California, Newsom has implemented policies that have increased taxes, increased the cost of living, and made it difficult for businesses to thrive.
For example, California has the country's highest state income tax rate, with a top rate of 13.3 percent. This high tax rate discourages businesses and individuals from relocating to the state, which, in turn, limits economic growth.
If Newsom were to become president, he would undoubtedly support the implementation of similar tax policies at the federal level, which would have a devastating impact on the national economy.
Despite Newsom’s stated commitment to reducing income inequality in California, the Public Policy Institute of California reported in July 2022 that inequality had become widespread throughout the state. The report states, "The gap between high- and low-income families in California is among the largest in the nation—exceeding all but four other states in 2020. Families at the top of the income distribution earned 11 times more than families at the bottom ($270,000 vs. $25,000 for the 90th and 10th percentiles, respectively)."
Furthermore, Newsom's approach to economic policy is heavily influenced by his commitment to radical environmentalism, a movement choke-full of unintended consequences.
Newsom has been a vocal adversary of the fossil fuel industry, which provides millions of jobs for Americans. If he were to become president, Newsom would no doubt implement radical eco-policies and champion the adoption of EPA regulations that make it even more difficult for the fossil fuel industry to operate. These would result in massive job losses for many Americans and a massively compromised power grid.
Incidentally, in October 2022, Californians were paying well over $6 per gallon for gasoline, the highest price in the country. Instead of blaming the energy policies of either the Biden administration or the state of California, Governor Newsom chose to blame America’s oil companies. He tweeted: “I’m calling for a Special Session to address the greed of oil companies. Gas prices are too high. Time to enact a windfall profits tax directly on oil companies that are ripping you off at the pump.”
Open Border Immigration Policies
Another concern about Gavin Newsom's potential presidency is his stance on illegal immigration. Newsom has been a vocal advocate for open borders and has implemented policies in California that prioritize the rights of illegal immigrants over the safety and security of American citizens.
For instance, California has become the leading sanctuary state. Local law enforcement is prohibited by state law from cooperating with federal immigration and border authorities. This policy has resulted in a rise in crime rates in the state, as criminal illegal immigrants are not being held accountable for their actions.
It should be noted here that in April 2007, Newsom stated his support for safeguarding San Francisco’s status as a sanctuary city for undocumented immigrants:
“I will not allow any of my department heads or anyone associated with this city to cooperate in any way, shape, or form with [federal immigration] raids…We are a sanctuary city, make no mistake about it.”
If Newsom were to implement similar policies at the federal level, it would result in a further nationwide surge in crime rates, as criminal illegal immigrants were allowed to roam free without fear of deportation.
Furthermore, Newsom's approach to immigration policy is heavily influenced by his commitment to the "social justice" movement, an issue rife with unintended consequences.
By way of illustration, Newsom has been an ardent and stubborn opponent of constructing a border wall between the United States and Mexico. If he were to become president, Newsom would not only halt the construction of the border wall, which would make it easier for criminal organizations such as drug cartels and human traffickers to operate in the United States, but he would also enable a more robust open borders policy, one that would destroy American sovereignty and seriously facilitate voter fraud, thus diluting the right of the ballot for American citizens.
Medical System-Destroying Healthcare Policies
Newsom has also been a prolific advocate for government-subsidized universal healthcare, which would provide healthcare coverage to all Americans, regardless of their ability to pay. While the goal of ensuring that all Americans have access to healthcare is a legitimate concern, the chief word in that sentiment is “access,” not to be confused with “taxpayer-funded.” Newsom's approach to achieving this goal could have unintended and serious economic consequences.
California's universal healthcare policies have led to long wait times for medical care, as the state's healthcare system struggles to keep up with demand; demand driven by unnecessary “wellness” visits that do little but fill insurance company coffers. If similar policies were implemented at the federal level, it would result in even longer wait times for medical care across the country than we have now under the Obamacare expansion, having a dramatic and negative impact on public health.
Moreover, Newsom's approach to healthcare policy – like his open borders policy – is heavily influenced by his commitment to the social justice movement. Again, the unintended consequences abound.
Newsom has been a vocal opponent of the privatization of healthcare, which he believes is driven by profit motives rather than a desire to provide quality care. He opts instead for a massive redistribution of wealth from the taxpayers to the uninsured masses. If he were to become president, Newsom’s policies would make it more difficult for private healthcare providers to operate, which would result in a decline in the quality of healthcare for many Americans.
‘It Takes A Village’ Education Policies
Newsom has also been a vocal advocate for socialist and Marxism-based education policies, which prioritize the faux-theories of social justice and equity over academic achievement.
Under Newsom, California has implemented policies that prioritize the hiring of teachers from underrepresented minority groups, regardless of their qualifications, many without the skill sets to educate our children effectively. This policy has, instead, led to an education system that indoctrinates children into a socialist mindset while facilitating a decline in the quality of education in the state, as unqualified teachers are hired to teach in California's public schools.
A Newsom administration’s Department of Education would certainly implement similar policies at the federal level, resulting in a nationwide continuation of the decline in the quality of education, which would have a devastating impact on the country's future.
And, Newsom's approach to education policy is – once again – heavily influenced by his commitment to racist and inequitable social justice movement.
To bear this point out, Newsom has been a vocal opponent of charter schools, which he believes are driven by profit motives rather than a desire to provide quality education. If he were to become president, Newsom’s current policies in California indicate he would champion the implementation of policies that make it more difficult for charter schools to operate, which would result in a decline in the quality of education for a great many Americans.
Newsom’s Attack On Free Speech
Newsom has also supported limiting our constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech, particularly when it comes to speech that is deemed “offensive” or “insensitive” to the social justice, globalist, elitist, and neo-Bolshevik crowds.
In California, Newsom has implemented policies and facilitated legislation that restrict the use of certain words and phrases deemed “offensive,” even if they are used in a non-threatening manner. If similar policies were implemented at the federal level, it would result in a nationwide draconian crackdown on free speech, which would have a chilling effect on public discourse and debate and thus our freedom as Americans to redress government.
In addition, Newsom's approach to free speech policy is heavily influenced by – wait for it – his commitment to radical and racist social justice movement, which, like Newsom, supports hate speech laws that are too broad and can be used to silence legitimate dissent.
If Newsom were to reach the Oval Office, the censorship policies he would implement – based on what he has done in California – would make it much more difficult for individuals to express their opinions, stifling freedom of speech in the United States.
Social Justice-Based Criminal Justice Policies
Newsom has long been a zealous supporter of relaxed criminal justice reform, which, in Blue states like California, has reduced the prison population by literally releasing violent felons onto California’s streets premature to the punishments the law demands.
Newsom's approach to achieving the goal of reducing the prison population has led to a surge in crime rates, as criminals are released back into society without proper supervision or rehabilitation. If similar policies were implemented to affect the federal criminal justice system, it would result in a continuation of the current nationwide surge in crime rates, as criminals are released back into society without proper supervision or rehabilitation.
Furthermore, Newsom has been a staunch opponent of the death penalty, which he believes is cruel and unjust. While this subject is a matter of debate among many, if he were to become president, Newsom would undoubtedly issue an executive order to halt the use of the death penalty – without the required legislation to do so, which would make it more difficult for the criminal justice system to deter and punish the most heinous crimes.
These are just some of Newsom's policy stances that have destroyed California's once-vibrant economy and sparked a mass exodus of people and corporations from the state. But by no means is this an exhaustive list of the actions he has taken that should disqualify him from being qualified for the US presidency.
Newsom has also:
Portrayed then-President Trump as a racist, thus sparking division during a tumultuous time in our country
Endorsed Kamala Harris for president regardless of her lack of credible intellectual capacity for the job
Described the COVID pandemic as “an opportunity to reshape the way we do business and how we govern”
Instructed his administration to consider race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status when reopening the state’s economy from his COVID lockdown, saying, “If you believe in growth and you don’t believe in inclusion, then we’re going to leave a lot of people behind”
Permitted Left-wing protestors and rioters to gather in large groups to carry out their demonstrations, all in violation of his otherwise draconian COVID restrictions
Mandated that the boards of all publicly held corporations headquartered in California include a certain number of “underrepresented” demographic groups – i.e., “individual[s] who self-identif[y] as black, African American, Hispanic, Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Alaska Native, or who self-identif[y] as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender”
Signed a bill in California to restrict the use of sentencing enhancements for certain crimes committed by gang members
Dismissed the concerns of the 84 percent of California voters who opposed their state’s policies that prevented school officials from notifying parents when their children expressed a desire to change their gender
And, he accused Republicans of “promoting grievance and victimhood, in an attempt to erase ”progress,” charging that GOP leaders were now openly venting their “long-dormant authoritarian impulses” to “prey upon fear”; passing laws that “make it harder to vote and easier to buy illegal guns”; “selling regression as progress” while promoting a “rising tide of oppression”; and striving to “silence speech, fire teachers, kidnap migrants, subjugate women, attack the Special Olympics, and even demonize Mickey Mouse.”
The Country Suffers When The Left
Doesn’t Think Things Through
As Democrats suffer the drawbacks of the Obama 2.0 cabal’s puppeteering of Joe Biden and his administration in an effort to continue their fundamental transformation of America, the voters of the United States – to include the honest majority of Democrat voters, must consider the damage a Gavin Newsom candidacy and election would do to both their party and the country.
His economic policies would lead to a continued decline in economic growth and a further explosion of inflation. His energy policies would invariably lead to widespread power outages; his immigration policies a surge in violent crime rates. His healthcare policies would lead to long wait times and inferior medical care; his education policies to a more ideologically indoctrinated youth. And his free speech and his criminal justice policies would continue the degradation of the rule of law and fidelity to the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
It is imperative that voters carefully consider the devastating consequences of a Gavin Newsom presidency – not to mention a Clinton presidency – before casting their ballots in the next election.
Here’s a thought. Maybe Democrats should cultivate moderate candidates for public office and ones without a transformative agenda. It would be refreshing if the Left would, once again, have fidelity to the Constitution as they represent their constituents.
