Something has been bothering me. It was clear back when I was in the Police Academy, and that’s many years ago. It just got a bare mention. But it stuck, and I just looked it up.
Let’s go to the law book. California Penal Code, Section 424 (a). It’s entitled “Misappropriation of Public Funds.” In reading it, it makes it pretty plain that using public money for other than its intended use is illegal; it’s a felony. It provides for a potential sentence of two, three, or four years, a fine of up to $10,000, repayment of funds, and removal from public office. Plus, it mandates disqualification from holding future elected office.
I remember Gavin Newsom and his complicit Legislature, paying out:
Stimulus checks to illegals
Rent and hotel bills for illegals
EBT cards for illegals
Cash for clothing and more
Unemployment for illegals
Tuition and books for higher education for illegals
MediCal to illegals
And Billions of tax dollars disbursed to illegals
We Californians never voted for any of that.
And Gavin Newsom was pretty straightforward about it being his executive decision to give our money away—misappropriating our funds!
Interestingly, a Public Official who refuses to pay public money for an approved and designated purpose can also be charged with Misappropriation of Public Funds. I’m specifically thinking of the General Election of 2024.
Governor Newsom—by all accounts an emperor with no clothes, his AG Bonta, and the veto-proof Democrat super-majority Legislature fought the Criminal Justice Reform Proposition 36, which was designed to toughen criminal law. Newsom hated that idea and actively fought against it.
Despite Newsom and his lapdog legislature’s best efforts, Proposition 36 passed with 68% of the vote in all 58 California counties —a landslide victory designed to toughen theft and addiction laws in California; a state reeling from the amount of theft, organized crime, looting, and massive economic losses.
Gavin Newsom has refused to fund Proposition 36 as outlined in the ballot measure. Newsom even attempted to say that counties and cities would have to fund Prop 36, which was not true of the ballot measure. Meanwhile, the above payouts of Public Funds to Illegals are just small snapshots of the Misappropriation of Public Funds.
There’s much more. Paramount is that Newsom intends to disburse $1 billion in tax dollars to the boondoggle of the non-existent high-speed rail project against the sound fiscal management of the state, while voter-approved and passed Proposition 36 goes begging! The $1 billion Newsom is going to shovel out would pay for the voter-approved Proposition 36 twice over and more.
Interesting predicament for Governor Newsom and his Democrat dominated Legislature, isn’t it? For years, they’ve been shelling out billions of dollars to illegals, as if illegals were their chosen constituents, ripping off the taxpayers in the process.
It’s time for it to stop! And if it takes felony counts and indictments to end it, so be it…
