EXTRA: How Trump Can Win The Epstein Issue
As I said in a previous column, the Epstein issue is less about the files and the cover-up and more about how our society is so apathetic to the issue of child sexual abuse and human trafficking. We have a true crisis in the free world—and especially in the United States—when it comes to being committed to eradicating child sex trafficking and human trafficking. That simply must change.
That said, it is now imperative for the Trump administration to define this issue and control the narrative so that this non-reformative issue doesn’t adversely affect the mid-term elections. Make no mistake: Democrats have nothing to run on but negative points: no platform, no accomplishments, and a track record that is far outside the concerns of the mainstream. If they can capitalize on the Epstein matter as grist for the 2026 midterms, they will.
With that in mind, there are several actions Mr. Trump and his team can take to address the issue to the satisfaction of the American people, thereby resolving it completely. Additionally, they can place the blame for any unresolved questions at the feet of the Democrat Party, contributing to their ongoing record of unfulfilled promises and lack of accomplishments.
First, Mr. Trump must make Attorney General Pam Bondi the face of this issue, authorizing her to go before the cameras to explain everything. He must give her a general game plan that explains to her how he would like to see this go, and then let her loose to do it. He has stated publicly that he has confidence in her and stands by her performance. At this point, he can—and should—make her the driving force behind this issue moving forward.
What this means is that, unlike what Washington, DC, and the mainstream media complex are accustomed to, Bondi will have to conduct all reviews, investigations, and other proceedings transparently in the public eye. This will require outside-the-box thinking and unorthodoxy. She must build the case—whether it points to somewhere or nowhere at all—in front of the American people so we can all see the path taken to arrive at any conclusion. This can be done without crossing any ethical or moral Rubicons.
This wouldn’t be the first time in American history that this has taken place. It happened during the examination of the Kennedy Assassination, and it happened in the inquiry into Watergate. Today, with streaming and social media, this process can be executed in real-time, say on X, as a motivating factor to reconcile the Trump-Musk spat.
Second, and even before it is announced that Bondi would be executing a “public-eye investigation” into the Epstein file, whether Ghisline Maxwell would have a potential role in the examination, or even vocalizing the suspicion of a Deep State role ala Russiagate, President Trump must express to the nation, in confident and no uncertain terms, that unlike Democrats and the toxic-Left, conservatives and Republicans—and even Libertarians can disagree on issues without disemboweling themselves. This will require him to make nice with people like Rand Paul and Elon Musk. Of course, it would be optimal if he had Rand Paul behind him in support as he spoke on the matter, and it would be nice if conservative and libertarian influencers and potentates also acknowledged this unassailable fact.
Conservatives and Libertarians—and most Independents—don’t operate from a base-hatred politically like the toxic and opportunistic Left do. They tend to work out their differences through legislation, the ballot box, and other conventional means within the bounds of the process. Democrats—and especially the toxic-Left within their party—operate on a more Machiavellian level where the “ends justify the means” and Saul Alinsky’s Rules prevail. Therefore, the concept of disagreeing and remaining friends, or even cohorts, is often foreign to their mindset.
And lastly—and quite un-Trumpian-like, there can be no deals to end the inquiry. Wherever this “public-eye investigation” leads, so be it. The facts must be allowed to lead to where they lead without nuance or manipulation. If it implicates friend or foe, it cannot matter, and the sword of justice must strike harshly and true. If it starts a political war with the Deep State, so be it; the time has come. If it ends in a dead end, then the arrival has been witnessed by the whole nation without any spin influence.
In approaching the Epstein issue in this way, Mr. Trump achieves several goals:
He insulates himself from the day-to-day
He immediately eases the public pressure to do something
In a true Trump-like manner, he plays the issue out in public for all to see
He satisfies a campaign promise to release all the information
He provides a transparent process that no one can criticize
He takes away the Democrats' only arrow in the quiver when it comes to the 2026 midterms.
Mr. Trump, as we used to say back in the firehouse, has an opportunity to make “chicken salad out of chicken shit,” and he would be incredibly wise to do so. Because, in the end, Democrats, the toxic-Left, and their mainstream media complex lackeys have made some pretty damaging stuff, politically, out of chicken shit.
