Do We Really Understand The Meaning Of Freedom?
The aware among us (a number that decreases every day) fully understand the never-ending encroachment of government and activism upon our individual freedoms. Today, the Bill of Rights is tantamount to a “Bill of Really Strong Suggestions,” given the way the elitists and the politicians transgress the founding document with impunity.
From the elected class that continuously expands the authority of government in an increasingly audacious manner, to the elitist class that establishes “rich man clubs” and “loudmouth platforms” to coerce the masses into allowing them to rule the world, our freedoms are dwindling and we only have our own inattention and meekness to blame.
What Is Freedom?
The very concept of freedom is intrinsic to the core of Americanism; to the Great American Experiment. Before the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the most common forms of government in the world were monarchies, oligarchies, and tyrannies.
As illustrated in this graphic, monarchies were almost always the rule of one backed by oligarchic power. Oligarchies were the rule of the privileged and the elite. And tyrannies were rooted in totalitarian and authoritarian rule.
With the advent of the United States, the idea of a democracy-based Republic was born. To that end, we must all understand that we are not – absolutely not – a democracy in the United States. We are a Constitutional Republic and there is a huge difference.
In a direct democracy – which our Framers abhorred, government is a direct rule of the citizens; a simple majority rule, which provides no protection for the rights of those in the minority. It is mob rule and what the mob wants the mob will take, without restraint.
Our Framers established a Republic based on a constitutional system of equally apportioned representation in government that included amendments constituting a Bill of Rights; rights enumerated for the individual which the government was forbidden to encroach upon. This constitutional system was based on the Judeo-Christian concept of freedom.
Dictionary.com defines “freedom”, in part, as:
Exemption from external control, interference, regulation, etc.
Personal liberty, as opposed to bondage or slavery
Frankness of manner or speech
Civil liberty, as opposed to subjection to an arbitrary or despotic government
The power to exercise choice and make decisions without constraint from within or without; autonomy; self-determination.
Examining our nation’s roots and accepting the general definition of the word, are we certain that we aren’t in the process of losing our freedoms every day?
Freedom To Make Your Own Medical Decisions
We saw an incredibly totalitarian approach to the COVID event by both the elected and the elite, not to mention those who were afflicted with mass formation psychosis. The freedom to possess domain over our personal health decisions was ripped from our purview by unelected bureaucrats and profiteering BigPharma elitists to the point that vaccines with long-term and deadly side-effects were mandated and logical, sound treatments were demonized.
This demonization continues today even though study after study contends that naturally acquired immunity and supplemental and monoclonal antibody therapy treatments are far superior to the mRNA DNA-altering vaccines mandated by said unelected bureaucrats and profiteering BigPharma elitists.
In his substack, Joel S. Hirschorn, author of the Pandemic Blunder Newsletter, writes:
“Dr. Eric Nepute is the very first doctor that the federal government has come after, accusing him of violating the 2020 COVID Consumer Protection Act...According to the the [Federal Trade Commission] complaint, Nepute and his company marketed vitamin D and zinc products under the brand name “Wellness Warrior” and claimed they were as effective – or more – than vaccines that are currently available.
“He is being sued for $40,000 per violation defined as Dr. Nepute telling the world that they should take vitamin D and zinc to help them deal with COVID on any level...In total, the government is suing him for over 12 million instances where his advertisements were heard. Multiply $40,000 by 12 million and you get a total of $480 billion he is being sued for! Just what a bully government thinks is just, rational and science based.”
It has been proven that a Vitamin D and Zinc regimen would have prevented the vast majority of COVID cases among the healthy people who contracted the virus.
So why is the US federal government suing this doctor for stating what has: a) been proven in clinical trials, and b) couldn’t do anything but make a person healthier in general? What happened to “my body, my choice”?
Freedom To Raise & Influence Your Own Children
Parents from coast-to-coast have been motivated to push back against the freedom-killing totalitarianism of woke school boards that push extreme and many times unacceptable curriculum onto minor children.
In San Francisco – one of the hotbeds of absurd wokeness, school board members prioritized woke virtue-signaling and “racial-equity” initiatives over addressing overcrowding in schools and elevating some of the worst test scores in the nation.
The New York Post reported:
“While children in San Francisco were locked out of their schools, kept off of playgrounds and generally living under one of the strictest [COVID] quarantines in the country, the school board decided to debate renaming 44 schools, including the Abraham Lincoln HS, before they got around to discussing school closures.”
And in many of the same schools, ideologically zealous curriculum directors and teachers are grotesquely interfering in the parental right to raise their children as they – and not the education system – sees fit.
On the point of “gender activism” – a subject far outside the education system’s charge and purview, aggressively woke zealots social engineer their students over the objections – and sometimes clandestine from – the parents.
As The Daily Wire reports:
“A teacher training for a Texas public school district directed teachers to hide information about students’ gender identity from their parents in order to make school a ‘safe’ place...
“The training, titled ‘Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth in Schools,’ was led by two school social workers working for the district [one of them] Monica Kelly, who describes herself as a ‘fat-positive, sex-positive therapist.’
“...Kelly appeared to admit that pronouns are much more sensitive than nicknames, encouraging teachers to ask students whether it is okay to refer to them by their preferred pronouns when speaking with their parents. ‘May I use these pronouns when I contact home?’ reads a question on a form Kelly suggested teachers have students fill out. Another question reads, ‘Would you like to follow up with me in a private conversation about your pronouns?’
“‘A student may be out at school, but they may not be out to their parents,’ Kelly explained. She added that ‘if they are not out to their parents, it may be because it is not safe for them to be out,’ and warned that some students may have ‘non-affirming parents or even parents who are shaming about a student’s identity.’”
So, how are parental choice freedoms being served by these zealots? If the education system seeks to co-opt the authority to socially engineer a minor child then shouldn’t any repercussions from teenage drunk driving deaths or school shootings fall onto the school system that socially engineered the empowerment of said child to drive drunk or shoot up a classroom?
Freedom To Run Your Lawful Business As You Choose
The absolute backbone of our economy in the United States – and throughout the free world, actually – is the small business. According to a 2021 article by the US Chamber of Commerce, there are 31.7 million small businesses in the United States, which combined account for 99.9 percent of all US businesses.
So, then, it is fair to say that any regulatory regimen or social engineering scheme that harms small business harms the economy. Additionally, because the world relies on the fact that the people of the United States constitute a “consumer nation” on which the world economy feeds, anything that harms or stifles US small business harms the world economy.
But that doesn’t stop woke activists and opportunistic, power-grabbing elites from aggressively attacking small businesses to their selfish benefit.
LGBTQ+ activists in Colorado targeted a Christian bakery specifically to force them into abandoning their beliefs about same-sex marriage. It didn’t matter that there were dozens – if not hundreds – of bakeries that could have and would have satisfied their needs. Because of their indignant self-righteousness they sought to demand that the owners of a private bakery surrender to their belief system, the freedom to worship – guaranteed in the First Amendment – and the bakery owner’s rights to freely worship were challenged.
Why? Was this the only bakery that made wedding cakes in the entirety of the Denver area? Couldn’t the couple seeking to order the cake find a suitable bakery anywhere else? One can only surmise the reasons for this flavor of totalitarianism stemmed from the poisons of arrogance and – a phrase I have coined – “assholianism.”
But ideologically woke zealots aren’t the only grifters targeting small businesses. The parasites of the financial world have teamed up with the same “assholians” to concoct a financial penalty for those who do not conform to their special brand of totalitarianism in “ESG scoring.”
As Rick Brundrett writes at TheNerve.org:
“‘ESG’ stands for ‘environmental, social and governance,’ though there’s no single accepted national standard for determining ESG scores.
“Critics contend the scoring is being used by banks, investment and accounting firms, and credit rating agencies to grade companies on how well they have adopted certain liberal values or policies, such as reducing the effects of climate change, increasing diversity on their governing boards, and supporting social justice causes.”
So, if the woke “assholians” can’t get you in court because the Bill of Rights protects people’s freedoms, the fascistic private sector will make it impossible for the individual to exercise their protected rights by destroying revenue streams for the non-conformers.
How does forcing people to a biased ideological way of thinking; to an intolerant and freedom-killing way of thinking, serve freedom?
Managing Your Finances Without Coercion
And then we have the freedom-killing, fascist tag-team of government and the Federal Reserve not only attacking decentralized currencies by trying to regulate an industry that was created to-end around their specific type of manipulative fascism, but trying to tell you digital currencies are evil unless, of course, they are the ones running the show.
As the Federal Reserve contemplates how to regulate cryptocurrencies (did anyone ask them to?) and as they debate the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), they are cheered on by the elitist, unelected, but uber-wealthy “assholians” as the World Economic Forum who state proudly that by 2030 “you will own nothing and you will be happy.”
(Some side questions: If no one owns anything but we will have everything we want and be happy, who owns the houses we live in, the cars we drive, the things we use? And wouldn’t they be profiting from our use of their goods? Someone has to own the things we have access to, right?)
On the subject of the dangers of CBDCs and the US Federal Reserve (which is not an entity of the US federal government but a conglomerate of the biggest banks), an example of the dangers of government controlling your money was illustrated by the Canadian government's freezing of protesters’ financial accounts.
During the COVID lockdown protests, Canadian truckers not only went on strike, they took their protest to the streets of their nation’s capital. In response, the Canadian government froze their financial assets, every penny, leaving them destitute.
They then coerced crypto services and exchanges and crowdfunding networks – where donations to the truckers' cause were flooding in – to freeze their assets as well.
Imagine now the totalitarianism the “assholians” would inflict on the people for not acquiescing to wokeness if there was a CBDC?
As Norbert Michel writes at Forbes.com:
“The problem is that there is no limit to the level of control that the government could exert over people if money is purely electronic and provided directly by the government. A CBDC would give federal officials full control over the money going into – and coming out of–every person’s account...This level of government control is not compatible with economic or political freedom.”
The Freedom To Live Your Life As You Choose
The beauty of the Great American Experiment goes beyond the experiment in self-governance. It is an experiment in balance: the balance between your rights and mine so that each of us may live our life according to our own free will. While the governmental aspect of this is a necessary evil (“If men were angels...”) the larger responsibility to accompany freedom comes in knowing when to restrain your desire to force others to your will.
Today, the activist, elitist, and opportunistic classes seek to force their will on the nation and on the world. Our elected leaders want to rule us by crafting laws they have no business creating, the opportunistic class is using behavior psychology to manipulate the masses to their benefit, and the elitist class is seeking to deceive the world population into ceding freedom to the servitude of their benevolence.
None of those demographics gives a damn about individualism or true and honest freedom. They are selling a charlatans ware and each time we by into their product we cede just a little more freedom that we will never – ever – be able to take back but with the cost of blood.
It doesn’t have to be that way. We still have time to stop their quest for control and the eradication of freedom. We do not have to continue down the road to serfdom.
But to do that, we need to take back power from the “assholians” and that requires courage, sacrifice, and commitment, three qualities that are rare commodities in the world today.
