Dark Money Democrats Funding Pro-Hamas Campus Unrest
Listen to a bonus segment of Underground USA on America’s Third Watch, broadcast nationally from our flagship station WGUL AM860 & FM93.7 in Tampa, Florida.
President Biden has become a focal point in the ongoing protests by the antisemitic pro-Hamas groups. These protests, with demonstrators ignorantly labeling him “Genocide Joe” and forcing his fickle and politically-centered policy away from Israel and toward Hamas, have raised eyebrows about the financial support behind these groups.
As it turns out, some of the organizations leading the charge against Israel are backed by well-known, dark-money Democrat philanthropists who also support Biden's reelection. We must, therefore, examine the intricate network of funding, some of the philanthropists involved, and the potential implications for the upcoming elections
Soros, Rockefeller & Pritzker…Oh My
The funding behind the antisemitic pro-Hamas movement and the protests targeting the Biden administration for its support of Israel is a complex web of philanthropic support. Some of the most prominent Democrat donors, including George Soros, David Rockefeller Jr., and Susan and Nick Pritzker, have been identified as key contributors to the organizations leading these protests. These philanthropists have provided financial backing to groups like Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow, both of which have a long history of organizing campus protests.
Soros, the Hungarian-American billionaire investor and philanthropist who likes to shield himself from criticism by identifying as Jewish, has been a significant player in the Islamofascist pro-Hamas movement. His Tides Foundation has and does support organizations like Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow, both of which have been actively involved in organizing the most virulent campus protests. These groups have taken a strong stance against President Biden's policies towards Israel and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
David Rockefeller Jr., the American philanthropist and businessman who hails from the same family that created BigPharma, has also been a key figure in funding pro-Hamas antisemitic groups. Through the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, he has provided grants to Jewish Voice for Peace and the Tides Foundation, both of which are involved in organizing violent campus protests that include anti-Biden sentiments.
Similarly, Susan and Nick Pritzker, linked to the Hyatt Hotel fortune and relatives of the neofascist Illinois governor JB Pritzker, have supported various groups involved in these protests through their Libra Foundation. The Pritzkers have made substantial contributions to Biden's campaigns and the Democrat Party, making their involvement in funding pro-Hamas protests all the more intriguing.
The Maze of Funding Arrangements
These convoluted and shadowing funding arrangements mean that money flows through several channels, sometimes supporting conflicting causes but always offering cover for the dark money deep pockets. This convoluted network has raised concerns about the transparency, accountability, and motives of these philanthropic efforts.
Organizations like Soro’s Open Society Foundations and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have taken steps to clarify their positions and funding histories in light of these concerns to no avail. Organizations like DiscoverTheNetworks.org and OpenTheBooks.com have successfully traced financial lines between them to funnel organizations that act as benefactors to the boots-on-the-ground protest groups.
As the protests continue to escalate, some donors have expressed concern over the antisemitic remarks and tactics employed by the demonstrators. This has led to questions about the alignment of their donations with their personal or organizational values.
Potential Impact On Upcoming Elections
President Biden has addressed the issue, emphasizing that violent protests are illegal and condemning property destruction, but most realize his rhetoric as politically self-serving as his poll numbers plummet with the under-30 voter demographic.
The ongoing protests – vacuously founded in ignorance as they are – have significantly influenced perceptions and support among young voters and broader demographics, potentially impacting the upcoming elections. The controversy surrounding the funding of these groups and their disruptive-turned-violent protest activities has raised questions about the alignment of donor values with the actions of the organizations they support.
Many nonprofits receiving grants from these philanthropists are now actively involved in partisan issues related to the Middle East, reflecting a shift or expansion in their advocacy focus.
For example, Solidaire Action, funded by the Pritzkers, supports groups demanding accountability from the Biden administration but not necessarily opposing him. This demonstrates the two-faced nature of the funding landscape and the disjointed and nefarious objectives of the organizations receiving financial support.
The Tangled Dark Money Web
The intricate web of funding and the involvement of prominent philanthropists in supporting the venomous antisemitism of pro-Hamas Islamofascist groups have raised legitimate concerns about transparency, accountability, and the alignment of donor values with the actions of the organizations they support.
As the protests continue, grow more violent, and evolve, it is crucial for elected officials and the American electorate to consider the motives and goals of big philanthropy funding strategies to ensure their organizational values warrant a nonprofit status.
The potential impact of these dark-money, deep-pocket “philanthropists” on upcoming elections and the broader policies of the Biden administration toward the Middle East – and beyond – cannot be underestimated.
“Dark money ensures that the voices of the wealthy drown out the cries of the people.”
