Just one day after House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (P-CA), insisted that the Democrat leadership was sharp, aware and in touch with the current political climate, she had a senior moment in referring to Pres. Trump as Pres. Bush. "While its only been a couple of weeks since the inauguration, we've seen nothing that I can work with President Bush on," Pelosi said during a Monday press conference.
The idea that ideologues of any bent are "in touch" with the mainstream public is laughable. Ideologues, by definition, are so close to their activism and advocacy that it is impossible for them to see issues of importance through any other lens.
Pelosi is a hallmark of the Progressive movement in elected office today and a perfect candidate for a poster child for term limits. the septuagenarian has spent nearly three-decades - 30 years - in Congress. And while she accurately represents the Progressive mindset prevalent in San Francisco (her district) her ideology bleeds over in full-force to her leadership and the direction of the Democrat Party.
Progressives are not Democrats. They are a far-Left parasitic group that found a opening into the Democrat Party on the fringe Left. They have, since the late 1800s, incrementally taken over the leadership of the Democrat Party to the point true Democrats - like Joe Lieberman, Joe Manchin, and Evan Bayh - have no home in their own party.
It is well past time that Democrats rescued their party from the destructive clutches of the Pelosis and Elizabeth Warrens. Removing them from leadership positions i Congress would be a terrific start.
