Evelyn Farkas, Deputy Asst. Sec. of Defense under Barack Obama, has acknowledged that she and her colleagues scrambled to gather intelligence on the Trump team, including any ties to Russia, before Donald Trump took office. She also said the Obama team sought to conceal the sources of that intelligence from the incoming administration.
How is this story not bigger than Watergate? A presidential administration's defense department leading the charge to dig up political dirt on a presidential nominee from a major political party? At least Nixon used a dirty tricks team. Obama used the freaking Defense Department as the coordinating entity across his entire administration.
And now, Farkas (which conjures up images of "A Christmas Story") is acting as if they had a right to surveil a political foe...almost proud of the fact that she and her Progressive cohorts obliterated the law in doing so.
It is time for Atty. Gen. Sessions to start hammering these people. They need to be investigated, charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and, if found guilty, made an example of with the harshest sentences law allows.
And that investigation and prosecution should include the highest offices involved, bar none.
