As if people weren't already gagging on the political correctness that's being stuffed down their throats, now comes word that the PC police at New York City's MTA have banned the words "Ladies" and "Gentlemen" from their announcements. Civility is truly dead.
This move, while being sensitive to the over-sensitive and easily offended (sadly, a growing number of people in our society), is offensive to those who believe in preserving ghe English language and civility in society. Perhaps we keep "ladies" and "gentlemen" and simply include the phrase "and everyone who is not." Wouldn't that be more accurate and inclusive? I thought "inclusive" was the thing with Progressives!
The expunging of language, history and culture to cater to the terminally aggrieved must end immediately. Political Correctness -- an unlegislated set of shadow rules counter to the freedoms guaranteed in the Charters of Freedom, is an elitist and fascist mechanism used by oligarchs to bully the people. Time to push back. Do NOT be politically correct!
