Multiple Democrat and Progressive lawmakers have yet to cut ties with House staffers who are under criminal investigation for wide-ranging equipment and data theft.
Five House staffers are accused of stealing equipment from members’ offices without their knowledge and committing serious, potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network, including one staffer who used to work with Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Imran Awan. Awan a longtime House staffer who worked for more than two dozen Democrats since 2004, is still employed by Wasserman-Schultz.
So, what's a little crime between friends, right? I mean, it was Wasserman-Schultz who gerrymandered the DNC nomination for Hillary Clinton, so why would we think that she would be appalled by some thievery by one of her staffers?
This is a malady that is all too prevalent in the halls of government, and at every level. Politicians and their underlings are given a higher threshold when it comes to transgressing the law. Where any one of us would be arrested and brought to trial, people like Awan are still just "under investigation."
I will bet you dollars to donuts that nothing more happens to Awan than a job reassignment. I guess that's what happens when you steal secrets from politicians...they get too scared to hold you accountable for their own crimes.
