Note sure how many of you caught this yesterday. Showed up in the news stream and it looks like I'm taking a trip to the book store for work related reading material.
This harkens back to who said it first...a lie told often enough becomes the truth. It is harder to unseat an entrenched idea, no matter how false. There are a ton of these in society at large. Goebbels states, "we do not talk to say something, but to obtain a certain effect".
When thinking about modern spin and the media, Clemens (Mark Twain) points out, "get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please"...welcome to false news.
Only some of the facts, the rest speculation, bravado, fear, (pick a feeling and associated wording). Point being, due to human nature and societal issues, fake news and distorted views will always be an issue to deal with. Granted, in today's realm of the information age warfare, moving the information is so much quicker than in the days of the revolution where it was print and podium.
