The chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), is seeking criminal charges against former State Dept. employee Bryan Pagliano, the computer specialist who helped establish Clinton's server while she was secretary of state. Chaffetz sent a letter to Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions Thursday asking him to convene a grand jury or charge him.
Pagliano refused to comply with two subpoenas ordering him to appear before the oversight panel. The GOP-led committee later voted to hold him in contempt of Congress.
It is quite irrelevant whether you supported Hillary Clinton of Donald Trump in the last General Election. What is relevant is this. If we are to be a nation of laws, where everyone is equal under the law, then high-level politicians - be they Democrats, Libertarians, Socialists, Independents or Republicans - have to be held accountable for actions that violate laws.
It is beyond obvious that crimes were committed on several levels in the Clinton email/server scandal. It is equally obvious that Clinton's station kept justice from being served.
Will Pagliano be a "sacrificial lamb"? That remains to be seen. If the swamp is really to be drained in Washington, DC, that can't be the case.
