Follow-up to yesterday's discussion on Israel owning the message using Arab accounts and channels to push information.
Prince Salman is looking at Israel as a tech and economic hub Saudi could possibly link into for the region. This puts the region on a divided line, especially when it comes to hardline Islam.
The article points out, which we all understand, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Both have no joy for Iran, so why not come to a mutual support agreement.
Additionally, it might temper, or ease, the points of how to deescalate the Israel and Palesine issues and get Iran out of this picture which would stabilize the region.
The Holy Land of Islam recognizing the Jewish state would put a huge dent in the religious tensions and wars in the area. Wait and see....
China is returning to the age of Mao...autocratic. The party has changed the ruling to allow Xi to rule indefinitely...which means there is a whole different way to look at china now.
Will more stagnation allow for greater targeting of leadership to change the strategic environment, or does this allow them the long game while governments which turn over every 4 or so years?
Time will tell.
So here is a bigger question when it comes to SEC pressing the test on crypto, where does the FDIC fall into this argument?
Not sure who has been tracking the BITCOIN house hacks lately, but it is starting to make CC Fraud/Theft look like amateur fun with the amount of money being pulled out.
Is there a point where crypto's and block-chains are going to be tied to a nation's bank insurance structure for bailout and what pain will it cause on a strategic level, let alone a tactical level on economy and livelihood
Note sure how many of you caught this yesterday. Showed up in the news stream and it looks like I'm taking a trip to the book store for work related reading material.
This harkens back to who said it first...a lie told often enough becomes the truth. It is harder to unseat an entrenched idea, no matter how false. There are a ton of these in society at large. Goebbels states, "we do not talk to say something, but to obtain a certain effect".
When thinking about modern spin and the media, Clemens (Mark Twain) points out, "get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please"...welcome to false news.
Only some of the facts, the rest speculation, bravado, fear, (pick a feeling and associated wording). Point being, due to human nature and societal issues, fake news and distorted views will always be an issue to deal with. Granted, in today's realm of the information age warfare, moving the information is so much quicker than in the days of the revolution where it was print and podium.
As the nation goes into day whatever of the government shutdown there can be no arguing away the fact that this disruption of government services, paychecks, etc. is owned - exclusively - by Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and the hyper-partisan political animals of the Progressive Left. And own it they will come election time.
Many are trying to equate this government shutdown - which is really not a paralyzing of government, but a disruption in many government services and federal outlays to employees and those receiving benefits - is akin to the last government services disruption cause by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) when he filibustered for the repeal of Obamacare. It is not.
Sen. Cruz was using the filibuster to the benefit of the American people in that he was pressing for the repeal of a wholly unconstitutional law that affected every citizen of the United States. Sen. Schumer is filibustering to the benefit of non-citizens of the United States in his totalitarian insistence that the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program be passed without deviation from the whims of Progressives and Democrats in Congress. Cruz advocated for American citizens. Schumer is not.
The sad thing is that Republicans and President Trump are willing to negotiate a compromise on DACA and, in fact, are actually doing so, much to the chagrin of many. What Schumer is doing is a political show; politically opportune grandstanding. It is all for political and partisan purposes. It is politics over government; Leftist, open-borders ideology over good government for the citizens of our country.
Retired Sen. Bob Dole of Kansas once said, "The most dangerous place in Washington is between Chuck Schumer and a TV camera.” It's very hard to argue with Mr. Dole on that.
Government officials in Afghanistan are reporting that more than 40 people were killed after Taliban terrorists assaulted the Intercontinental Hotel in Afghanistan's capital, Kabul, Saturday. This leads to a question: How are they able to do this?
The United States and an international coalition have been battling the Taliban and its affiliated forces since just after the 9/11 attacks. In the years before Barack Obama assumed the presidency, the Taliban had its back against the wall; existing far more decimated than when battling the Russians in the 1980s and 1990s.
Today, the Taliban can strike at the heart of the capitol city in Afghanistan and do so targeting a location that is allegedly heavily guarded to protect foreign diplomats and business people.
Two points come to mind at this reality. First, the Afghan military/Security Forces and intelligence mechanisms are infiltrated with Taliban sympathizers who afford critical security information to that terrorist group. And second, we have declared a modicum of success prematurely.
If this reality is not dealt with more effectively; if the Taliban is allowed to strengthen again to the levels pre-9/11, the next strike on our soil - or in the free world - will make 9/11 look like a traffic accident!
There is a new movement afoot in California: The New California Movement. It seeks to see the rural counties of California secede from the spendthrift-giveaway coastal counties of that state. But the proposed split is a temporary solution to a cultural problem.
Citing a "tyrannical form of government," the New California Movement seeks to band together rural California into a separate economy separate from the coast. The founders of the movement, Robert Paul Preston and Tom Reed, unveiled a "Declaration of Independence" earlier this week and are following a path outlined in Article IV Section 3 of the US Constitution.
Make no mistake, California is in dire straits. The Progressives of the coast have "prude shamed" (for lack of a more effective term) and gerrymandered the voters in the rest of the state for so long that they have delivered the whole of the state's legislature to the Left. The fact of the matter is that California's state legislature doesn't represent the majority of the state any longer. This is not unlike the state legislatures in Illinois or New York.
But the truth of the matter is this. We get the governments that we elect, especially when the majority of people both maintain ignorance of daily politics or go-along-to-get-along. To that end, any new "state" will no doubt, eventually fall prey to the same issues no left not addressed.
Is the answer the splitting of a state? In California's case, the coastal areas would necessarily collapse financially without the revenues generated by the rural areas, causing more of a financial drain on the Federal government come the inevitable "bailout."
Perhaps an intellectual revolution is necessary, where individual responsibility and an embracing of opportunity overtake the victimhood "I-am-owed-something" mentality installed into the American psyche by the Progressive Left.
Remember, they want you dependent on government. It's how they control culture.
Democrats on Capitol Hill are now saber-rattling about "shutting down" government over what they would accept on making DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). As they couch this th digging in of the President's heels on the subject, it is they who are digging in their heels.
President Trump, the deal maker, is set to negotiate a passage of DACA into law. But, like any good wheeler-dealer, he wants something in return. He sees this as a perfect opportunity to do what other Republican presidents have failed to do in the past: affect stronger physical border security.
Of course, Democrats, who are completely focused on politics and delinquent on doing what is correct for the safety and well-being of the country, want DACA passed as a stand-alone measure, even as they continue to marry comprehensive immigration reform with any move on toughening border security.
Do you see the blatant and bald-faced hypocrisy here? They want stand-alone legislation when it benifits their ideological agenda, but couple issues to water-down results whenever something might advance that is not within their core Progressive bucket list.
Here's a thought. Let them shutdown government. Let the President and non-establishment Republicans run with the message that Democrats shut down government to keep Social Security checks, Federal services and tax refunds from citizens in deference to Dreamers and see how long the government stays "shut down."
When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences banished sexual predator Harvey Weinstein to the netherworld, they did so in such a knee-jerk manner that they opened themselves up to a huge conundrum: What do do with all the other sexual predators they have celebrated over the years.
I would like to point out that everyone - even Weinstein - needs to considered innocent until proven guilty. That is how our legal system works. Sadly, in the court of public opinion, which these days seems to usurp our rule of law, a charge, innuendo or rumor can equate to "conviction" and the destruction of a career.
That said, there are some real scumbags in the entertainment industry (politics, too). Weinstein, faced with multiple charges of sexual harassment and assault, was quick to claim a mental affliction feigning some sort of victimhood and ceded to the accusations. Same goes for the unrepentant child rapist Roman Polanski. These pigs deserved everything that came to them. But what of the others who deny the accusations?
Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, Ben and Casey Affleck, Brett Ratner, James Toback, they all deny the allegations. For Spacey, it cost him his acclaimed HBO series House of Cards.
But I digress. This post is about Hollywood knee-jerkism.
With Weinstein banished from the Academy, what is that entity to do with the Roman Polanski's among them? Polanski continues to win awards in the industry, including from the Academy. Will they excommunicate this pig as well?
This is the hypocrisy that is allowed to exist when there is a two-tiered justice system and a society that renders verdicts in the court of public opinion. A serial sexual predator gets banished from the academy, and a convicted child rapist gets awards from the same entity.
It has now come to light that the FBI and the Department of Justice have ongoing investigations into The Clinton Foundation and whether there was any "pay-to-play" quid pro quo during Hillary Clinton's time as Barack Obama's Secretary of State. It's about time, but don't hold your breath for a just outcome.
The Clintons, during Bill Clinton's time as President of the United States, packed the DoJ and the FBI with politically loyal career operatives. An examination into Hillary Clinton's 2000 Senate campaign - presented in the book A Fraudulent Senator - revealed blatant and wanton campaign finance violations to the level of the biggest instance of campaign finance fraud in US history. But Clinton loyalists at DoJ sidetracked the investigation into obscurity.
These same Clinton loyalists, still in place - and with even some new Progressive Obama/Clinton loyalists added in to the mix, will do everything in their power to protect the Clintons and The Clinton Foundation this time as well.
Read the above-mentioned book and ask yourself how there were allowed to get away with it.
President Trump, in one of his infamous tweets Tuesday, went right at former Hillary Clinton aid and estranged spouse of pedophile Anthony Weiner, Huma Abedin, calling for the DoJ to prosecute.
Making no qualms about hos he believes the DoJ is infiltrated and controlled by the inside-the-beltway, go-along-to-get-along Deep State establishment, Mr. Trump referenced a young sailor who was jailed for sending a picture taken aboard a US Navy submarine to his son.
The President spoke of the disregard for information security protocols and went so far as to include former FBI director James Comey in the call for prosecution.
It has become crystal clear to even the most politically naive that the Justice Department, FBI and a plethora of investigative agencies have been hijacked bv politicians. We exist today in a two-tier justice system that allows for crimes to be committed by an elite class without punishment. The same transgressions of the law would land anyone else in jail.
Until there is a purge of political appointees through the Executive Branch of government on a regular basis, people like the Clintons will be able to seat operatives in sensitive positions to run interference for them for the rest of time.
A prankster has made a huge political statement at several locations in California by placing an unofficial sign designating California - and a few specific cities - as sanctuary locations.
The signs are in the form of the nationally recognized blue informational signage, but they do pack a message.
One sign says, "Felons, Illegals and MS13 [gang members] welcome." Another reads, "Official Sanctuary City 'Cheap Nannies and Gardeners Make Malibu Great!' (Boyle Heights Not So Much.)" Others include "Democrats Need the Votes."
Authorities in California have already removed the signs, but one can only assume that many more will now begin to pop up, which brings me to my point. While the placement of these signs may skirt the law, they are a form of redress to government, which is guaranteed in the First Amendment to the US Constitution.
While California's elected cabal may have found a way to maintain power through the manipulation of the ballot box, some California residents are making their disdain for anti-sovereignty actions clearly understood.
As the Christmas season gets into full swing the usual suspect politically correct Scrooges are taking to attacking a Christmas song for it's "intent." To say they are piggybacking off the recent rash of topic de jour sexual harassment/assault claims would be an understatement.
It appears that the oh-so-sensitive Left (I liken them to the yuppie neighbor characters in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation) has the Christmas song "Baby It's Cold Outside" in their crosshairs because, they insist, the man is coercing the woman into having sex with him.
Period, context and an actual reading of the lyrics not only prove this criticism to be absurd, it actually spotlights te real issue at hand. If we are to dissect this song by 2017 standards, then the ugly thing about it isn't the courting ritual that takes place, it is the societal shaming of the woman that is evidenced in the lyrics.
If the Left is all about free expression and a woman's right to choose what she does with her body, then the "slut shaming" should be the target of their ire, not the male's quest to court a woman he find attractive.
In a day and age when society has embraced high school boys and girls simply hooking-up for sex over social media portals, this fake outrage about a Christmas song is as disingenuous as it is pathetic.
Peter Strzok, a former FBI counterintelligence agent and ex-member of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigative team, was found to have sent texts that proved his vehement anti-Trump fervor. During testimony Wednesday, US Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), shrugged the hyper-partisanship off.
“Peter Strzok wasn’t saying anything about Donald Trump that the majority of Americans weren’t also thinking at the same time," said Nadler. He is the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee.
Nadler was responding to texts of Strzok's that called President Trump a "f*cking idiot" and a "douche" and writing "F TRUMP." Mueller has since dismissed Strzok from the Special Counsel team.
While it is a constitutional right to hold political views, and to even redress government, Strzok's views on Donald Trump should have eliminated him from both investigating anything to do with Mr. Trump and consideration for the Special Counsel position.
This is proof that Mr. Mueller failed to properly vet for bias in his investigative team and casts a dark shadow over the legitimacy of the Special Counsel.
Further, it proves beyond doubt that there are people in positions of influence and consequence who are violating their oaths of office to remain non-political in the execution of their positions and whose biases are compromising the governmental process.
With 100 percent of the precincts reporting in Alabama, it appears that, sans the tallying of absentee and military ballots -- and an inevitable recount, US Senate candidate has fallen to the propaganda attack of the Progressive Left.
Judge Roy Moore has, at this point, lost to Democrat challenger Doug Jones. Moore gleaned 48.4 percent of the vote, where Jones took 49.9 percent. This is the first time in 25 years that a Democrat has been elected to the US Senate from what the elite media call the "Deep South."
Jones's election is a paradox for Alabamans. Jones is adamantly pro-abortion and a supporter of Planned Parenthood. He is also a believer in man-made climate change and pro-Obamacare. He is pro-open borders and supports increased restrictions on gun-ownership. In essence, he is all about everything that Alabamans are against, yet he won by the slimmest of margins.
The overriding point in all of this is the sexual misconduct allegations leveled against Roy Moore, allegations that never appeared in any of his other political contests over 40 years. It will be very interesting to see if any of these allegations continue to have feet, or whether they evaporate because the election is over.
Congress, and specifically the US House of Representatives, are the people's voice in our government on a daily basis. So, when a government employee, or the leaders of a government agency or department, blow off a request to testify before Congress it's a big deal.
Andrew McCabe, a Deputy Director with the FBI whose wife ran for office, solicited funds from the Clinton Foundation -- and who is the subject of three ongoing investigations into improper political activity, suddenly had a "scheduling problem" and had to delay a scheduled appearance before the House Intelligence Committee Tuesday.
One has to wonder what internal issue at the FBI would be so incredible pressing that the American people -- through their elected Representative -- would be told to wait in answering questions about subjects pertaining to national security and political malfeasance during the 2016 General Election.
One thing is for certain. The Justice Department, the FBI and a good part of the investigative and intelligence communities have been politicized to the point where action needs to be taken to purge the political influence. If no action is taken, the Republic will -- guaranteed -- fall to ruin.
Senior Justice Department official Bruce G. Ohr is a nefarious character indeed. He was demoted last week for concealing that he met with the men behind the now-debunked Trump dossier. But it gets worse...much worse.
Ohr's wife, Nellie Ohr, worked for Fusion GPS, the opposition research organization that produced the propaganda piece on Trump; a propaganda piece that had little to do with the truth. Mrs. Ohr was paid by Fusion GPS through the fall of 2016. Her subject specialty: Russia-related subject matter.
It is stunning -- infuriating -- that the Department of Justice has become a fertile political playground for the insider power brokers of politics. It is impossible for a department tasked with assuring justice for all to do so when political operatives freely urinate on objectivity, fairness and a jealous adherence to the rule of law.
Just like when Al Capone's organization had to be cleaved from the city government of Chicago, it is time to thoroughly cleanse the Department of Justice of political appointees. This goes double for all investigative and taxing agencies in the Federal government.

US Senator Bernie Sanders (S-VT), took to NBC's Meet the Press Sunday to say that Democrats shouldn't "jump the gun" on their attempts to impeach President Trump. He is clinging, incredulously, to the false-narrative of Trump-Russian collusion advanced by the discredited Fusion GPS Trump dossier.
"[I]f Mueller brings forth the clear evidence that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians, I think you have grounds for impeachment. But I think jumping the gun does nobody any good," Sanders said. "You have to bring the American people onto this issue. You don't want to make it into a partisan issue."
A motion to start impeachment proceedings against the President by Rep. Al Green (D-TX), was crushed in the House last week by a vote of 364 to 58.
One of two things is certain here. Either Sanders is completely delusional, or he is pathetically partisan. If he is delusional then Democrats should seriously think about dismantling his potency in their party. But it's more likely that he is being caustically and pathetically partisan.
The narrative of Trump-Russian collusion has not only been debunked, evidence unearthed by the Left's quest to ruin President Trump suggests that Hillary Clinton and Democrats are actually guilty of communications with the Russians and other foreign entities to affect the outcome of the 2016 General Election. It was Democrats -- and the then-chief figurehead of the Democrat Party -- that was guilty of collusion. Once again, Progressives (and Clinton is a Progressive) accused their opposition of exactly what they did.
Further, that Sanders would be carrying water for this now-recognized-as-false narrative after it was found that Hillary Clinton -- the person who cheated him out of a fair shot at the Democrat nomination -- was the catalyst for the fake Trump dossier, is tantamount to suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
Honest political opposition is good for the governmental process. It keep both sides in check. False outrage over false narratives that everyone knows aren't true is simply opportunistic politics. The American people are tired of taking it in the chops from power-hungry political actors.
It is time to cull the herd.
For-now-Senator Al Franken (D-MN), a caustic Progressive, resigned from the US Senate because he got caught groping and sexually assaulting women in his earlier "comedian" days. Bet the farm that if an overwhelming number of sexual harassment allegations hadn't surfaced, Franken would still be sitting as an elected Senator from Minnesota.
Aside from the fact that Franken continued to hide his sexual predator status behind the cloak of plausible deniablity -- saying he has always been a champion of women's rights and that he remembers each instance of alleged harassment "differently," there is a larger event that took place with his resignation.
Along with the "retirement" of US Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), again over allegations of sexual harassment, the Progressive and Democrat leaderships will use the demise of these two individuals as a marker to insist they have purged the "caveman mentality" from their political party. They will parade the carcasses of these two men as trophies through the public square in an attempt to divert scrutinizing eyes and paint themselves, once again, as champions of women, diversity, and equality. It is a move of deception void of true soul-searching.
Democrats will attempt to make this event a pivot point to snare Republicans, and especially Pres. Trump, trying to equate words with deeds. We should all understand that while sexist bravado is distasteful, it is still miles short of sexual assault and/or sexual harassment.
Locker room bravado; braggadocios chode-warrioring is absolutely not the same as groping a woman as she sleeps or forcing your tongue down someone's throat against their wishes.

President Trump did the right thing. The duly-elected Israeli government recognizes Jerusalem as the capitol of their nation. But for years, especially during the Obama Administration, the United State refused to acknowledge the city as Israel's capitol. That ended today.
President Trump, much to his credit, has acquiesced to the fact that Israel is a sovereign nation; a nation whose government can declare its own capitol. That the rest of the world, and the pathetically anti-Israel United Nations, should have any say at all over where Israel decides to establish its capitol is insane.
The fact of the matter is this. The root of the word Palestine is "philistine"; a people, not a land. In fact, it is the scriptures of the Jews that even afford the Philistines with an area, mostly accepted to be fluid and without fixed borders. That modern-day Palestinians claim Jerusalem as their capitol is antagonistic.
In the end, and for today's argument, the world must recognize Israeli sovereignty and their claim to Jerusalem as their capitol. If to the victors go the spoils, then the Israelis have a right to land they have already ceded back to their aggressor enemies. They could have kept it all after the many wars they have suffered at the hands of neighboring lands. It is time aggressors toward Israel in that region -- and around the world -- recognize Israeli sovereignty and end the Palestinians' false claim to Israeli land.

Now that the heat has gotten too excruciating for US Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI), because of a landslide of sexual harassment allegations, the longest serving member of Congress is resigning. But it gets better. Nepotism is alive and well in the Democrat Party.
It appears that Mr. Conyers is endorsing his son, John Conyers III (or John Conyers Jr. Jr.) to fill his vacant seat. A greater display of nepotism in federal politics has seldom been witnessed.
Interestingly, John Conyers Jr. Jr. is not only the offspring of a man who has been pressured out of office before his term's end because of his inappropriate sexual demeanor, he is also the son of a woman who served a 3-year prison term on a political bribery conviction.
Monica Conyers, Congressman Conyer wife, spent 3 years in prison after being convicted on a bribery charge after she admitted to taking bribes to support a Houston company's contract to treat sludge in Detroit while she served as a councilwoman.
How can the people of Michigan, regardless of how cobalt blue they may be as Democrats, continue to support this family for public office? Maybe John Conyers Jr. Jr. is an honest guy, but the sins of his mother and father have to stain him politically.

Americans are the most benevolent people in the world. Myriad studies have proven this to be a fact, not to mention that in every global conflict our nation has stood-up to rebuild the vanquished aggressors. But in this new era of fiscal irresponsibility, the "something for nothing" train is barreling down the track.
Despite pleading with the Federal government for $94 billion in recovery aid after Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello Nevares has authorized the issuance of approximately $100 million in government employee bonuses, this after it was exposed that the chief reason why relief aid sat stagnant on the port docks was because of government ineptitude.
Incredibly, these bonuses were written into the budget thus codified into law. The bonuses are a "tradition," don't you know.
The idea that government employees are automatically deserving of pay bonuses simply because the end of the year arrives is insane! Bonuses are for exemplary performance, not simply because of existence. After the Puerto Rican government's outing as a dysfunctional entity, it is hard to understand how American taxpayers have been hoodwinked into providing "bonuses" to those who created the dysfunction!

Anyone who has paid attention to Clinton politics over the decades knows that they have saturated the FBI, Justice Department and Treasury Department -- and any other investigative body - with Clinton loyalists who obstruct on their behalf with aplomb.
That a mid-level Clintonista in FBI Agent and Special Counsel appointee Peter Strzok has likely skewed the investigation into Hillary Clinton's illegal use of a private email server to transmit top secret information during her tenure as US Secretary of State should come as no surprise. There are literally hundreds of people like Strzok -- Clinton loyalists; Progressives -- who are willing to bend the blindfold of lady justice to affect a political outcome in any given situation.
While the term "drain the swamp" may be synonymous with President Trump at this point, the need behind the notion is quite clear. Our Federal government now serves the oligarchic class and the political parties. Even when an outsider takes the White House, the bureaucracy put in place by the political elite thwarts systemic reform at every level and at all cost.

President Trump is getting blowback from the usual suspect mainstream media for his comments about Sen. Elizabeth Warren (P-MA), calling her "Pocahontas" for her lie about her heritage. But the media is railing against the wrong person here.
The "Pocahontas" label came from the fact that Warren blatantly lied about having a Native American lineage in order to attain a six-figure pseudo-job at Harvard University and, when caught in that lie, made excuses instead of owning her deception.
Even more disturbing in all of this -- and more disturbing than Warren's lie (and it was a huge one, especially by Progressive standards...for everyone else but them, evidently) is that she wasn't immediately terminated by Harvard and that the people of Massachusetts didn't care that they were electing a proven liar to government.
Ultimately, we get the government we vote for. Thanks Massachusetts for this lying sack of bovine feces!

US Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), is no stranger to scandal or corruption. His latest trouble, a sexual harassment claim, only touches a bit of his penchant for walking the ethics tightrope.
Conyers' wife, Monica, spent 3 years in prison on a bribery charge conviction. He has been accused of forcing staffers to perform personal duties for the family under the threat of unemployment. The Detroit Free Press documented that Conyers staffers in his district office handed out donated holiday turkeys to political cronies and not the needy constituents for which they were meant.
Conyers is just another "pay-to-play," quid pro quo, Democrat Progressive politician. These types are intrinsically corrupt and unethical. That's what happens when you embrece thr Alinsky-ism: Win at all cost.
