A crocodile at a zoo in Tunisia was brutally stoned to death by a group of visitors. Stones have been thrown at the zoo’s lions and hippos as well. Authorities said the crocodile was attacked by the group of visitors, who threw stones at the animal’s head.
And in El Salvador, Gustavito, a beloved hippopotamus at their national zoo in San Salvador, died last week after being attacked with metal bars, knives and rocks.
We are not all politics here at The Underground. This type of behavior is not only unacceptable on every level, it is barbaric. These acts are the acts of people living in a society where life has not been established as precious.
Further, major studies - too numerous to cite here - have proven that people who abuse and mistreat animals are infinitely more likely to commit acts of violence against people, and even murder.
In an age when activists make excuses for religions whose fundamentalist factions commit acts of terrorism and murder in the name of their god, and when those same activists defend barbarous acts like late-term abortions, is it any wonder there is no value placed on life?
And you wonder why Chicago is a slaughterhouse...
