Illinois came up short on an attempt to make former Pres. Barack Obama's birthday a statewide holiday.
The bill would have designated August 4th as a legal holiday in Illinois, which some erroneously call his home state (his home state is Hawaii). The Chicago Tribune said the proposal was six votes short of passing.

Barack Obama was, arguably, the most divisive POTUS in American history. While many say Lincoln lays claim to that moniker, Lincoln, by contrast, inherited a divided country over economic and social issues, slavery among them. That divide came to a head under his watch.
Obama literally created the divide amongst the American people by balkanizing the populace on every issue that could be affected by ideologically-driven politics: race, gender, religion, class, economics, etc. His division was purposefully done to harm the country.
Lincoln, on the other hand, went to war to keep the country...
