Forty-six year ago today a bomb exploded inside the US Capitol building. The explosion caused an approximately $300,000 (in 1970s dollars) in damage but thankfully no one was hurt. A group calling itself the "Weather Underground" claimed credit for the bombing, They said the bombing was in protest of the ongoing US military activity in Laos.
The "Weathermen," whose ideological foundations were in Marxism, were a violently radical faction of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS); advocating violence as a means to transform American society.
Why is this moment in history, given all the upheaval during the 1960s and early 1970s significant? Because one notable member of the Weather Underground was Bill Ayers, a close confidant and Chicago neighbor of Pres. Barack Obama. Many believe - and with good reason - that Ayers even ghost wrote Mr. Obama's book, Dreams from My Father.
Today, the same "activists" holding the same Progressive (read: Fabian Socialist and Marxist) ideology are recking havoc in the streets of our urban areas and plotting and executing disruptions at Republican town hall meetings, and trying to delegitimize the Trump presidency at every turn.
Something to keep in mind going forward..
