Law enforcement personnel are searching for someone who hung up posters around American University's campus late Tuesday evening; posters parodying the recent International Women's Day as "International Nags [sic] Day." The posters included a meme, which read "Stop talking and bitching woman on March 8 and make me a sandwich." Stunningly, police are investigating this as a hate crime.
Given that the poster of the posters was well within his free speech rights, as they have been adjudicated in today's American lexicon, I would hope he/she would come forward and dare the authorities to charge for the "crime." In fact, it is well past time that free speech organizations unleashed a litany of lawsuits against the usual suspect universities and colleges charging violations of peoples' constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech.
In addition, the Trump Administration should immediately order a review of grant monies to colleges and universities where this kind of bullsh*t routinely takes place. Institutions of higher have no "right" to our tax dollars and should be in full compliance with the US Constitution in order to receive them.
Given the caustic "humor" that routinely comes out of the Left - Samantha Bee's calling a stage four cancer patient's haircut a "Nazi haircut," Kathy Griffin's calling of the sitting president "an idiot," and the nightly rantings of occasionally funny late night talk show hosts, come to mind - the hypocrisy is monumental!
But, this is a genetic infirmity of the ideological Right. Where the activists of the Left would have had this violation of constitutional rights before the SCOTUS already, the Right is still whining about it.
