Hardcore Conservatives said the proposal Republican leaders have offered to replace Obamacare is “Obamacare lite” and vowed to rally opposition from the right. Moderate Republicans complained it went too far in unraveling the Affordable Care Act’s benefits. Pres. Trump, meanwhile, called it a first step and insisted that later phases would contain more of the President’s campaign promises such as selling insurance across state lines.
One thing is for sure, if Republicans do not honor the Founders legacy of compromise in government, and if they fail to achieve an acceptable replacement for the Marxist-based Obamacare, the Republican Party will get decimated in the mid-term elections and will hold the White House for just four years. Further, Obamacare will be here to stay...forever.
Aside from the fact that none of it - not the Republican proposal or Obamacare - had a lick to do with healthcare (it was all about, and remains to be about, health insurance), every time government crafts legislation to affect a social issue freedom becomes marginalized. The free market - and the free will of allowing one's self to exist dilapidated - should riegn supreme on this issue, and that includes removing the obstruction of acquiring health insurance over State borders.
If we believe in limited government then we should legislate like it. Sadly, because Obamacare went to radically far to the Left, Republicans will have to repair the damage done incrementally. Did you hear that far-Right Conservatives? Learn a lesson from the Progressives and achieve your goal incrementally for a freaking change...
